This morning my umbrella broke on the way to work. Now it's pouring rain and I will have to find somewhere nearby with umbrellas for sale. Maybe I can find a pretty one.

This week? Not sure. Work. Apply for jobs. Apply for college. Maybe go to a birthday party. Drink some beer if I'm lucky... Write another Idol entry (also if I'm lucky!).

I'm nervous about this week's vote. Trying hard not to continually refresh.

This week I've got to get two submission proposals out the door. I've also got to finish a sample for a class I'm teaching next month, figure out which pattern I'm publishing to the line next month and make sure it's ready, and find time to go to the bank. Whew.

Just wanna say I liked the idea of the Home Game thread. We got 11 good "entries" there (including mine). Was almost too busy to get mine in -- and it took me a while to come up with a good response to the prompt.

This week? More busy. And diggin' the fact that I like both teams gong to the Superb Owl.

This week? No huge plans. It's my last week with one of the primo parking spots at work - we have four really good spots, that if we win in the "lottery" we get to have use of for one month - so I'll be sad to see it go. After that, it's just catch-as-catch-can!

I only have two chapters left on my book! I plan to get them done this week, and start on the eternal editing process.

I did go over the votes a second time this morning and I guess I am as shocked as everybody now that we are in one tribe. But, logically speaking all our percentages should go down then, and as long as we are not in the last two it doesn't matter how well we are doing . Which is lucky, because to only have 25 out of 350+ possible votes... that's pretty suck.

OR, as I like to see it, rather indicative of the fact that MANY of these votes comes from people's friends lists who vote for the person they know, and don't even read anything else.

One number I would have loved to know is how many votes I got from the people that actually read my post. But... alas, no way of knowing that. So, instead I try to ignore the polls and just focus on writing cool shit. Better for my head in the long run anyway.

So what is your plan for this week?

How nice of you to ask! This week, I am excited for several reasons. Firstly, today, despite having to clean up a lot of wee from the floor, I had what I would consider a successful day of potty training. My son's last 3 uses of the potty had no accidents in between :D (And today was the first day I even tried to put effort in, so it's given me a big boost of motherhood confidence). Here's hoping I continue this success the rest of the week.

Tomorrow is Australia Day, and even though I live in Malaysia, I am hosting a Very Australian Australia Day Party for my friends here. I've already started making the pre-cooking preparations for my sausage rolls, shepherd's pie and pasties (ie they're ready in the fridge to be cooked in the oven tomorrow), so all I really have left to do is make the pavlova and some salad (My husband is halfway through making lamingtons). If I'm lucky, I'll get to theme this week's post around being Australian, seeing as it feels appropriate...

Come Wednesday, we've got some friends coming to stay with us, who'll be able to act as our guarantors and we can finally finish our extended passport renewals after they were stolen, so yay! And if I'm really lucky, I might even get to see some comedy this week too.

One of our good friends is staying with us all week from L.A. (well actually she's gonna stay at her sister's for two days and come back) and we're hoping that she'll move back to this area cause we've missed her. (well it's part of her evil plan)

So we'll probably do some running around this afternoon, and then a mutual friend that likes to cause a lot of drama wants to have breakfast with us tomorrow (I'm not looking forward to this because last time Carrie saw him I wanted to bloody strangle the guy from the other side of the table)...so we'll see what happens.

Our friend's visit will end with Carrie's birthday party this Saturday (much fun will be had by everyone)...

This week is WAY BUSY for me but I've already made a bit of a dent in my have-to-do's. Remaining is read nineteen chapters of a book I don't have (Jane Eyre, last estimated delivery date was today but postman didn't have it for me, darn Amazon marketplace sellers), reading a few chapters of textbooks I do have, write a document on what I've done and what I need to do with my field of responsibility for staffing a convention, price supplies for making ten kites so I can have a guesstimate in to our accountant tomorrow, draw another three or four comic pages, possibly go to a meetup for new members of the local cat club, possibly entertain my cat's breeder for a while as she mentioned wanting to come visit, clean my house since there's a fine film of dust EVERYWHERE from construction work, do more work on moving house, draw my art for an art exchange community, write a brief first proposal for my BA essay, do another art card and make a post in the LJ community for my upcoming webcomic, write a job application to spend my summer selling strawberries...

Oh, and did I mention the reading has to be done by Wednesday morning, and everything else by Friday midday, because after that I go to Copenhagen for the weekend if my family isn't going to Gothenburg so I have to housesit?

Yyyeah. This week sucks.

I just dropped my now-former-houseboy (as in, the friend who was here helping me while I could not use my left arm) off at the airport. Guess that means I have to start cooking and cleaning for myself.

In perhaps more interesting (to some) news, I think I am going to try to get a job. Since I haven't worked since 2003 and things are rough in the job sector right now, it might be a little difficult.

However, I am *highly* motivated for this change. It doesn't have to happen next week, but something in the next six months would be nice.

So, this week is going to be spent writing a brand-spanking-new resume tailored towards the position I have my eye on, and writing a narrative that will convince the XXX that I am worth bringing in for an interview.

It seems there's very little for me to do at work due to a recent change in the admiralty laws, so I'm going to need to dredge up some other projects ASAP.
