For those following: the Belgian government gave the adoptable children from Haiti whose files were not entirely completed yet refugee statute and they are slated to arrive this week or early next week in Belgium. My godson is among them!

Morning! It was a busy day yesterday, huh?

I've got a busy day today, too. Writing two patterns (my least favorite part of my job) and hoping to get them posted today. I'll be adding them to my list of patterns for "Help for Haiti" (50% of pattern proceeds between now and March 1st will go to Doctors Without Borders). Trying to get back into the swing of work after the 3 days weekend and failing miserably.
Playing online a little to much...now that I have really played around and uploaded some pictures of mine to Deviantart.com. I think it's my new online addiction, looking at all the wonderful art that is up there.

Hi all! I just got back from the rehab office where paperwork was supposed to be left for me to bring to Social Security for my clients. Ha! It wasn't there and the vr counselor responsible was out sick. so thank goodness the receptionist was resourceful and found it for me...in someone else
's file! Arg. I hope this isn't an indication how the rest of the day will go!

I have a little bit of a headache and had trouble getting up this morning but I am pleased to be back in the office after a nice weekend.

I am still disappointed for my friends! I don't think liret's post was one of her best this week, so I understand her getting cut, but gildedage's was clever and informative at the same time, and I really enjoyed it.

I would really like to thank the gatekeepers who've added their personal thoughts! It has been really interesting to read how people come to their conclusions.

"how do you think I could have strengthened the close?" "what did you think of the structure?" "how did the theme of the piece sit with you?" etc).

Now that some gatekeepers have revealed their criteria, one thing struck me and I would love to have some input from people:

What kind of a competition is this? I have seen several people mentioned that they see it as a journaling contest, and doesn't like fiction very much. It was said that it was not a writing competition.

Now, since this is my first year, maybe I have misunderstood it all? I mean I personally tends to prefer fiction, but am I interpreting it wrong? I mean I do know that there probably is no single easy answer here, I am just interested to see people's thoughts about what they feel an entry should be like.

But, I admit, I keep reading comments kind of "warning" against fiction...
