How am I doing?

Well, I got my entry in on some of the evils of my youth. You'll be quite shocked;) Open topics are hard!

I'm headed to class in a bit, turns out the prof has us each teaching. He said we could sign up but he just posted a schedule, I am teaching on Greek Literature with someone I don't know named Aaron week after next.

AAAAHHHHH! I don't even know this guy and we have to throw together a presentation.

I've never even read that material before. I REALLY hope I can understand it.

I hope he doesn't mind being teaching partners. My last experience having a partner picked for me in another class did NOT turn out well:(

Oh man, I hate group/cooperative projects. I really, really, really do. I never liked the idea that my grade was dependent upon another person... especially one you don't know that could be flaky as hell. Bleh! I really hope you have a partner that's on the ball and doesn't drag you down! Good luck with the project! It sounds kinda fun actually!

I'm in school -- as usual.

I am trying to think of a topic to write about this week, but my mind is completely blank. I think this is going to be one of those weeks where I am going to be rushing to get my entry in, because I might come up with something great the last day.

I wish it was summer already. I have been having that urge for about a week now, and it is just getting stronger as time goes on. Either it should snow, or we should just skip through all the cold and it can just go right on ahead and become summer. Really, I wouldn't mind. ;)

Got new furniture! (Actually, used and rejected furniture from Mom and Dad...) But who can say no to a green leather La-Z-Boy recliner and an actual full couch with reclining seats on both ends? I mean really. I'll take that over a three-legged, sunken in loveseat any day!

I actually went to bed at 9:30 last night, which is really unusual for me, as I'm a night owl, and generally up til after midnight. It was a good thing, though, that I had the extra time in bed up front, since my dog robbed me of my last two hours sleep this morning. I think it was the last couple weeks catching up to me, though... haven't been sleeping much lately, from stress, and, I think eventually the body can't handle it, and just shuts down when it needs to.

I'm doing pretty well. Had to sit through a two hour meeting this morning, that was surprisingly interesting--we got to listen to a talk on identity threat and stereotype threat and how it impacts performance and behavior. It was pretty cool, and now I'd even consider looking for the book coming out about the research!

Otherwise I'm tired. Run down. Too much overtime and too much work and too much trying to sort out my life. In happy news, it looks like I might be going on a jaunt to visit my friends in Maine this weekend. To Idol folks, it must seem like I go to Maine all the time, but until last year, I had barely been back at all since I moved away. Anyway, mini MLK weekend vacation seems like a fun idea.

Oooooh. Easter Eggs. ;) We'll see what we can do on that front.

Hopefully I can put together an entry this evening.

Today's an absolute shit day. And it's the kind of shit day that even a do-over wouldn't help. I found out my cat may or may not live, and I'm devastated. She's only 8½ months old; she's too young to be talking of severe health issues.

She was in for a spay and ID tattoo, and I was originally supposed to pick her up at 4. She ended in being under for 3½ hours, having almost a cup and a half of fluids drained from a cyst, and will be staying at least overnight.

I have to finish getting ready to go to the DMV to renew my license. I don't get overly girly very often but a photo I'm going to have to show people for the next ten years certainly adds a level of angst to my morning prep.

I had started a mental list in the fall of ideas for when the inevitable open topic arrived. But did I write it down? No. Do I remember any of them? No. Sigh.

I am once again trying to figure out how to get my drivers license. The closest school that lets you use their cars to take the test is an hour away, and the bus system to there is lousy. I do not see how this can work.

I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Hubby had some outpatient surgery this morning to get rid of a few lumps[1] he had on his cranium, so that's been taken care of.

Otherwise, I'm at work with a frappuccino, which IMO makes everything better!

I have an eye exam tomorrow afternoon, wherein I know my eyes will be dilated, and then about 3.5 hours later is our first night of bowling league, which hopefully the dilation won't interfere with TOO much, LOL.

Haven't written my entry down yet, but it's mulling around and slowly taking form in my own cranium, yay.

Happy Hump Day ya'll... things are... well... in progress here. Just sort of cruising through the day in a haze of blahness today. Just can't seem to shake the bleh.

In interesting news... I was just informed by one of my secret office moles that we apparently have one of the Republican Gubernatorial candidates coming into the office next Monday. Strangely enough, I was left off of the announcement email... perhaps they're going to treat me like the crazy/disfigured kid you hide under the stairs until company leaves? Hmmmmmm... I actually think they're afraid of letting me get anywhere near the dude. Which should make this little soiree a whoooooooooole lotta fun for me. Now I just need to dig out my "F-THE-GOP" t-shirt.
