So far the week's been pretty down. Just came back from Hawaii so the 18°F weather I'm being treated to is making me sad. XD

My week is alright, I suppose. Been feeling productive and having direction, but also a bit overwhelmed. We'll see. Work is busy and I'm trying to accomplish a lot in my me time, too.

Open Topic is my least favorite topic EVAR, but I actually have an idea in mind for this one - phew!

They were prdicting all this monster rain overnight and it's actually clearing up right now.

They did that here last weekend - monster snow storm was going to happen (and snow is already pretty rare here) and everyone would be locked in and OMG do not travel. So plenty of things were cancelled and over here the snow didn't even stick.

I'm in the hospital. Came in for a fairly routine appt yesterday and ended up staying. So far today, I've been run through the MRI machine twice, with another trip scheduled. The results determine if I'm going home or having back surgery.

I've got limited net access, and I'm bored. Anyone want to come keep me company? I'll share my hospital food.

Yesterday, I got fingerprinted so I could start subbing, which is always good. Plus, I wasn't voted out of this writing competition thing I'm doing. :-)

Today, I get to go ask our HOA which pipe started spewing water after our hard freeze. (And yes, I live in FLORIDA). We still have water, so we think it's the pipe to the sprinkler system. Hopefully they'll either have the fix for us, or it's cheap.

I've woken up every day so far this week feeling vaguely hungover, without any of the fun of drinking the night before. The heat's been running as close to 24 hours a day as the system will let it, and the apartment totally wasn't designed for this. It's... a little dry.

Clearly, the solution is to drink.

For those following my medical saga (and really, who isn't *mutters sadly to self*) I had the stitches removed from my shoulder this morning and I have officially been cleared of all activity restrictions except those involving pain. As in, "if it hurts, don't do that."

I am trying to get things caught up over on .info -- sorry to have let it slide.

I am also incredibly excited to get back to my sewing machine. Machines. *rubs hands together* Oh yes, my preciouses... Mommy has missed you.

Oh the eagle is soaring allright... and it just crapped on my head, I think. Open Thread? GAH! Too many different ideas running around in my head... My brain is going into vapor lock.

In other news... my stinkin' jury service was put off until Feb. 1. Dagnabbit. Oh well, at least I have something to (hoepfully) look forward to down the road a bit. :-)

WOW! It was raining earlier today. Nice to see some of that wet stuff. Off to take the cat to the vet for her thyroid test to see if the treatment did its job the second time around. I sure hope so for all our sakes. Have an idea for my entry this week. Just need to sit and write it out. Hmmm, will I get that chance today? I hope so.

Totally beat, and it's only Tuesday. Bad results from a thyroid/throat ultrasound, more (legal) drugs needed (just thought I'd clarify:), getting ready to see a Lupus specialist down at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. I would like to rewind the clock a few years and take all of this sickness crap away.

BUT I only have 8 more chapters to edit in my novel before it's ready for test-readers (and then final edits and submission!), so that thrills me! I can't wait to hear what other people have to say (even if what they say is bad, so that way, I can FIX the bad). This novel has been a complicated one to write, and a lot has been rewritten, omitted, etc., so I'm happy to (almost) get the beast off my back.

Need food. Can't eat gluten, so, no sandwiches. Must... find... noms...

I can't complain--our college just closed FOR SEVEN DAYS due to problems with the city's water infrastructure.

I have no running water at home, but that's OK because I just got a bonus week to rest, read, and write! Maybe I can finally catch up on Idol posts...
