scapegoat just let me know that she needs to drop out of the season to concentrate on this thing that I keep hearing about. Apparently you can *turn off* this box we all are staring at, and there are things to do out there? Important things. I personally don't believe these rumors, and hope that no one else does either because it seems like massively silly way to live. :)

Stupid cold, I've had a nosebleed for FIVE DAYS from my cracked sinuses, uuuugh.

Also, I want to say... as anyone who has visited my user info knows, the name I am playing under is not my main journal. I have not intended to deceive anyone, and have told everyone who has asked in private what my real journal is. I simply do not want anything publicly linking my game account with my locked, friends-only journal for the purposes of privacy. Doing do would limit what I can comfortable post and drastically lower the quality of my entries.

As such, while I can post a few comments here and there using the "other user" function, it is very tedious to do it constantly. I know I could switch accounts up, but, when I tried that at first, I had serious cookie issues, so I just stay logged into my main account.

Point of all this is - I don't really comment on your entries. I worried this would hurt my in the competition, and it may well be doing just that. I wanted to take a moment to explain it and tell you all I AM an interactive player and I DO read your entries. Circumstances just prohibit me from commenting as I'd like to, and I think it has cost me some friendly attention. I just want to assure you all I am not ignoring everyone else or being impersonal, it's just circumstances. They're a bitch.

Oh man - that sounds like a pain to deal with! I had thought about the same thing after I joined the competition (because I have a largely f-locked journal, too)...but hearing all of the hassle makes me glad I didn't create a new one for the competition. Sorry for all the trouble! :/

And I definitely don't comment on everything I read/like. I try to comment where I can but usually am rushing to finish reading all of the entries/don't want to just leave a comment unless I have something valuable to add - ya know?

Good luck with those nose bleeds...my hands are incredibly dry/cracked because of the weather. Although winter in my fav season, I would be too upset if spring came early this year! :)

Got mine posted, and am glad that some people are enjoying. It was fun to write, so there you go. Am slowly reading others. It's tough with the overtime at work, but I'll get it done!

It's actually a bit warmer today in the city than it has been. I mean, it's still cold and all, but we're back into typical temperatures for January in NYC, instead of typical arctic temperatures.

Yesterday zia_narratora posted a comic about me! It's awesome and based on a true story. :D

This morning I almost missed my stop again. Got to stop falling asleep on the train! One of these days I'm going to wake up in the Bronx and be really confused about what to do.

Can I have the weekend now, please? Or maybe just a good snuggle?

I'm frozen right now. We lost power at 6:30am and it didn't come back on until about 10 minutes ago. We got down to 65 in the house, so now the heater will have to work harder to knock out the massive chill in here. On top of that, because the power went out before John could turn on the coffee pot, I'm just now getting the blessed caffeine. Today is turning into a wash for work which sucks. I'm too cold and now too achy to do anything right now. :(

Is 65 cold for you? I don't have control over the heat in my apartment, so some days it is like 80 and other days it is like 50 but we keep the thermostat at 62 in my parents' house and I thought that was normal.

HAHAHA -- there's a girl at work who will come in on Monday and be like "wow - I slept in til 7AM on Saturday - it was amaaaaaazing and so late" ...

I don't get that at all.

I, for one, can not believe that the school system did this to me! They shut down for *COLD*! It's over 15 degrees out there! Sure, the windchill takes it down to 4 degrees, but it's still above flipping 0!

One more way that Oklahoma is drastically different from Michigan.

Now I have three hyperactive kids all day who want to go out and ride bikes, but their mom wants me to get them to clean both of their toy rooms and their bedrooms. This is not going to be a good day.

I'm just glad that even though both of my computers are dead, I can still steal a few minutes on the computer of the family I work for.

We used to have school delays and closures when I was a kid for the *COLD*. But that was because it would get so cold that the buses wouldn't actually start! And in a rural area, if the school buses aren't running, no one is going to school.

Wow... Sounds like most of the country is running around with with snotsicles hanging from their faces and on the verge of hypothermia. Yikes. Makes me feel guilty for it being sunny and mid-70's out here today. If I weren't at work, I'd be running around in shorts and flip-flops. Gotta love "winter" in SoCali.

Still struggling with this week's topic... the only thing that's popped into my brain seems to have opened up Pandora's Box in my head and has me contemplating some ick that I had stuffed into the corner of my mental attic where I send things that I'd rather not deal with to die. I wonder if I can find a new entry on eBay?

There is more than just frost on the ground here...try 5-6 inches of snow! And it is really, really cold here at the same time.

Sounds like I'm the only one not really complaining about weather. Yeah, it's cold and snowy in Ohio. January's like that. I am amused by The Weather Channel today, though. The talking heads are losing their minds over the possibility of an inch of snow in the south. Our local talking heads are equally freaked out about the five inches we're supposed to get. It's like it's the end of the world tonight around here!

But since it isn't ending, I'm free to say that my entry makes me anxious. I don't normally write fiction entries, so I don't know what to expect come poll time.

Instead of frost here, we've got about a half-foot of fluffy snow in Indy. Traffic is a mess, but that's typical for winter here.
