Here we are again - gathering together to say goodbye to the latest group of eliminated contestants.

It might interest you to know that we are now almost at the point, numbers wise, where Season 5 started. Then again, it might not. But it was interesting to me when I noticed it!

From what I can saw in the new tribes, competition is going to be rather tight for a lot of people.

Unfortunately though, four of our own will not be continuing along the path with us.

As usual, I will come back and say more. But for right now I will just announce them.

caninespirit: Being that you are someone who has been watching since Season 3, I was hoping that we were going to get the chance to see more of you out on the actual stage!! I hope you continue to have no regrets.
I however have one: Back in your intro post you said that "The hows and the whys shall come later." and we never did get to hear those stories!

bigdoug: Considering everything you have been through over the past couple of weeks, I'm sure this is the least of your concerns.

I am so sorry about the loss of your grandfather. I think there are a lot of people who can relate to your entry, myself included at times. I think the key is to deal with these things in your own time and in your own way.
Thank you for putting together your original tribe. I don't think a lot of people really understand what goes into picking and choosing the people you want to compete against, and what that says about an individual. But I really did appreciate the amount of work you put into it.

geniusinmaine: It was definitely an interesting experiment to have a different piece of original art for each entry. People always talk about the depth of diversity in Idol and I thought you managed to highlight that by actually coming up with a format that I can't recall anyone actually doing before!

I did see a comment in your latest entry that sort of nailed it for me though - I liked the core of what you were doing, I just wanted to see more of it. I was hoping you would expand and develop things more. At the heart of it all it was a wonderful theme to explore about a horrible event that is far too common.

themegaloo: There isn't a single contestant that doesn't have something that they can share with you, something that will somehow enrich your life. Personally I enjoyed her entries, but that's not the one thing that is going to stick out in my mind about her.
For me it's about personal connections, and she made one, without even knowing it.
I was reading Idol's "friend of/audience" page a few weeks back and I came across a post from her about a show called "White Collar". It sounded interesting, so I decided to check it out.
She didn't steer me wrong. White Collar has been added to the shows that I spent my "free time" (whatever that is) watching on Hulu! So - thank you, even if you didn't know that anyone else was listening!!


are leaving our ranks today as competitors, but I certainly hope that all of you will be continuing to hang around to socialize, to see how this season continues to develop, and perhaps play the Home Game.

I know some people say they are not sad to see people go in this stage of the game, but I'm genuinely sad to see most people go, especially since I've seen a lot of people improve season by season, and think that sticking around allows some of them to do that.

So I hope that these four will stick around and I'm especially sad to see caninespirit go because she's a friend of mine.

Thank you for the kind words-- and I'm pleased to have addicted one more person in the world to White Collar, as unintentional as it was! I sort of knew my time was coming when the polls went up, with as unintentionally busy as I'd gotten. I'll try to hang about and play the homegame and cheer on the people I've been reading, it's been a lot of fun and I wish everyone still in the running all the best!

It's funny because I came across your post and remembered it when I was on Hulu and saw that the show was available. So I tried out the pilot.

It definitely has that "USA show" vibe to it. I've been waiting for new episodes of Burn Notice, so I'm glad to have a new show like this to hold me over!

While I am a bit disappointed that I've been voted out fairly early (again), I'm also a bit relieved. In the amount of time we had each week, it wasn't easy for me to write a unique entry on a par with the other competitors--writing doesn't come as naturally for me as it most likely does for others--and do a corresponding piece of artwork. I'm glad there have been people who have liked my artwork, however, and I thank all of you for your kind words.

Ironically, I had a different idea I was considering using this week. Perhaps I'll use it in the future for a home game entry, should there be a topic it could fit under.

Guys, this is the first time I'm kind of annoyed by the person being voted out. I really don't think caninespirit should have gone. I really liked her entry quite a bit, and actually it stood out to me last week, and there were worse ones in that tribe... quite a few worse ones IMO. Without sounding too bitter, it just kind of disappoints me.
