I'm looking forward to a couple of parties tomorrow; one housewarming party that I'm not sure whether it's a costume party or not, and one masked ball later in the evening. I still have no idea what I'm going to wear, only that it cannot be a zombie outfit as the hostess has a true phobia of zombies.

Bah. I do great zombie costumes too. Too bad.

I can't keep thinking about that, though, because I have to get ready for my Arabic oral exam. It's in less than 3 hours, and I still have absolutely no clue what I'm going to say/do. Gah!

I had to cancel my Halloween plans, since I was the one actually hosting them. I figured I would be nice for a change and not pass on the gift that keeps on giving.

However, I have had great success sewing, so it isn't all bad. Got some pictures too...

Another plus of being sick: I have lost three pounds this week, without even trying.

I think this may be the closest I squeak to the deadline due to life and all that this involves.

I have girl scout training this morning and have to finish putting out the decorations this afternoon and get ready for tomorrow as well.

Once, I think, I get to next week, things might slow down just a bit.

Every year I dress up as a cat. I have a 70 degree Halloween night version of the costume and a 20-below polar kitty version to wear, since in Cincinnati, Ohio, you never know what to expect from the weather during Trick-or-Treat.

My MIL has Alzheimer's. In her neighborhood, close to 200 kiddies come to her door for goodies. She doesn't catch on that kids might be coming back two and three times to that house-on-the-end-where-the-lady-won't-remember-so-you-can double-dip. So....I get to be the Trick or Treat police cat, and she will love seeing me put on my make up. (icon picture will give you some of an idea). Every year it becomes more and more. I add on something or change something up to keep it fresh.

After the community sirens ring to signal the end, I may pounce off to a neighborhood friend's party to partake for another hour our two.

Then there's Day of the Dead next week, and I am subbing in a Spanish class! Yay! for Holidays!

We've got a St Andrews fair to go to, a housewarming party and a birthday party. Thankfully, the dress up holiday here is in December so we don't have much to deal with Halloween wise.

I am both looking forward to and dreading seeing how many entries and byes appear when I wake up tomorrow morning. LOL. I think that's one disadvantage to living in a non-US timezone... but at least voting will probably be up not long after I wake up! hahaha

Oh, and in life stuff, I invited my husband's girlfriend on our trip to Vietnam for my birthday, because I decided I would like to have her there too, so we've booked her flights now and just looking for accommodation :D

Prepping for a six-hour drive to a friends' and then a Halloween party. Sadly, what with a lot of things coming all at once, I forgot to get makeup and won't be able to do much.

On the upside, though, I still have a purple pinstriped suit to just snazz around in. And what with folks here in Sweden not really DOING Halloween like they ought to, I at least won't be the least-dressed dude there.

Halloween will hopefully be spent at the Carolina Ren Faire with my sister, bro-in-law and 10 month old niece (who just started to walk!!) followed by a church halloween carnival. Just hope I have enough $$ for the faire.

You'll probably see a lot of people we know! We run games out at MNRenfest, and send the crew to the next on the circuit, which is yours. If there's a short little troll-ish looking guy with wild scruffy red hair, on a half-shaved head under a 1-ft. tall top hat who challenges you to ring his bell, and a 7-ft agre with horns on his stetson, who goes by the name of Ogre, and hands you an axe, tell em both I said hello!

I am so far behind on my reading this week! I read the first page an a half the day they were out, and I thought, I was doing well since that was all there were at the moment. Then I just didn't read all week! So I'm only done with page two, and worried I won't have time to read them all, and I'll miss out on a great entry.

No real Halloween plans, I don't even have a costume for the kid and me. We might go see the Halloween shenanigans going on in the main street but if the pumpkin market a few weeks back was any indication, it'll be pretty much nothing. Last time she got a donkey ride out of it she loved, but this time there are no donkeys, only a Halloween train. In the evening we're expected at my in-laws for Halloween dinner, which is just an excuse for my MIL to play with food and arrange it on nice plates.

And ... work this weekend too I guess.

Woot! Entry posted with eleven hours to spare! (Nevermind that I was up till 3am writing and haven't done any actual work yet at work today because I've been editing and tweaking and posting and stressing!) Really, time to get some work done before Boss comes back from her meeting...

We're going to a small party tomorrow night, so between now and then I need to make some marshmallows and maybe something else to bring. It will be a simple quiet evening, but that suits me, I'm not really a party person.

I can sympathize with the being up way too late with it, but, I think that's when I'm naturally the most inspired. And, I totally do the being way too anal... rereading it 48 times to change a word here, a dash there, add a parenthetical, alter the formatting... artists!

I just posted my entry. Damn to hell this trend of writing something all week, going to edit, and then finding yourself writing something completely new the morning of the deadline.

I'm all excited for Halloween! Tomorrow is the birthday party for the 3 year old (the youngest of the three kids I nanny for)! It's Cinderella themed and we have rented a girl to come in dressed as Cinderella, I'm the Fairy Godmother, and a family friend is going to be Prince Charming to announce all the little girls as they come in. And there will be a bouncy Castle set up in the driveway to help burn off energy after eating nearly $800 worth of cake. They sure don't do birthday parties like I'm used to!

No real plans yet. Trying to decide if we want to hand out candy to the brats on our street or not. And if we don't, how to keep them from coming to the door. Porch light trick doesn't work here since last year they started at 4:30 in the afternoon. So we'll either deal with freaked out animals all afternoon/evening or sit out in the driveway and hand out candy (likely while smoking cigars). But, it's hot here and will be hot tomorrow and that just doesn't sound like fun. John wants to get candy for us and then just sit in the garage opening eating candy while the kids walk by. But he's sadistic like that. :)

I hate to do it, but I have to drop out of Idol. I had time when I signed up... but then a work trip this week added three (THREE!!!) major projects to my already maxed-out workload, as well as a couple of minor ones. I'm going to lose so much time with my family over that, it's not fair for me to try to keep going with this. I'll do "home game" entries as I have spare seconds, just because I need to write in order to get better at writing, but as for the main game, I'm out.

DO I HAVE HALLOWEEN PLANS OR WHAT!

Halloween started yesterday for me. I got dressed up as a pirate and went to see "The Vampire's Apprentice" and went out for drinks and dinner at the Green Goddess restaurant.

Tonight I'm going to the Tru Blood & Gold Vampire Ball, which is a big vampire-themed costume party here in New Orleans! Charlaine Harris,who wrote the Sookie Stackhouse books, is going to be there!

Tomorrow we are going to a graveyard and possibly to a zombie-themed concert by one of my favorite bands!

I love Halloween!

I actually had to sacrifice going out last night to get my entry in, but I did it before the very last minute this time, so, I'm happy about that. Now I can relax and get a head start on viewing and commenting on my friend's and others' entries, and I'm excited about that.
