Green Room - Week 2 - Day 4

Good morning campers!

Our schedule today is as follows:

Breakfast is being currently being served in the main hall.
This will be followed by open sessions of archery, basket weaving and of course, being Fonzie.

Second set of daily activities for you this morning are swimming, badge collecting 101 and being Fonzie.

Please make sure you sign up for activites during the breakfast period as spaces are limited.

Please note: the juice bar has been temporarily closed for repairs due to be struck by one of our campers yesterday who wasn't paying close enough attention during her Fonzie lesson on "how to hit things and make things and make them work".

Flyers will circulated for afternoon activites.

Other than that, it's shaping up to be a nice day. And I finally got an idea for my entry. Haven't read any of the others yet, because I always try to write before I read.

Did you know I won not one but two archery awards during my camp years??

And since I'm too young to remember Fonzie, really, I submit that chocolate is more awesome than Fonzie.

I went to camp when I was 9, and I did archery. The arrow broke into a ton of pieces when I let go of the bow and a chunk of it went through my thumb. I had to go to the hospital and they removed it with pliers.

I haven't done archery since! lol

Ooh, I want to take archery. My niece is taking archery with 4H and as part of her homeschool curriculum and she is really good. Like scary good. :)

I love percussive maintenance. That and duct tape should be all you'll ever need.

My wrist hurts today, which is going to make work interesting today. I may just sit and write patterns rather than crochet. And I hate actually writing the patterns out.

I took archery once when I was in Hawaii I think... at age 8 or 9 or something. If I remember correctly (which I don't) I was actually pretty good, and almost always at least hit the target, if not close to the bulls eye. ^^

It's kinda therapeutic, honestly... You have to be in tune with most of your body and how everything works together. It's like a zen moment, setting up and executing the right strike. :)

When I was 12 I went to Astro Camp. It was super awesome and the food was delicious. I loved the experience.

On another note, I finally managed to crank out an entry. Thankfully. This week was tough for me.

I started day camp when I was 3-1/2 and started sleep-away camp when I was 10-1/2 and went until I was 16-1/2. When I was in college, I worked as a camp counselor at one of my former day camps for two summers, with the 4 year olds - tons of fun!! :)

I'm finally back at work after two days out sick. My body feels immensely better--but I've got no voice! This is a tragedy since I tend to be a bit of a chatterbox at work.

My entry is in, and I've gotten some nice comments on it. I've been reading lots of entries while I was sick--but I didn't have the energy to comment on a lot of them. All of my notes about my favorites are at home.

My two year old did that this morning. From the look of wonder and amazement to when I handed him a piece of toast to the MMMMMMM sounds he kept making as he scarfed down that piece, and ANOTHER it was like it was the first time he'd ever eating anything so truly amazing.

I was never very good with archery in camp, but at one of the many summer camps I went to, riflery was one of the options - I got pretty good with shooting a rifle whilst lying in the prone position on my stomach!

Of course, if I had to shoot standing up I'd probably be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn, but as long as I have time to drop to the pavement first, watch out!

Camp! Woohoo! Sounds like fun! Archery was never my sport but hey, I'll try anything once!
