Good evening.

Well, it's evening *somewhere*.

Maybe when you are reading this. Or perhaps you've been so busy reading the Introductions that you haven't been to sleep yet!!

There are 179 contestants as of the moment when I am writing this! (The record, last season,was 195 for those interested in such things.) Which means standing out in the crowd is important.

That said - who, thus far, has stood out *to you*???? Why?

Aw, thanks. I mentioned it to someone (not sure who) that since I know that people are putting themselves out there to share a bit of themselves, I personally feel it's important to acknowledge that. Even if it is taking up a TON of my time. ;) But I like reading about everyone. Not sure if I can keep it up during the season, but for at least this week I wanted to.

I've read a few of the introductions, but I suspect a majority of mine will be this weekend. And I'm still hoping for inspiration to strike this weekend so I can write my own introduction then.

Anyone have plans for anything other than reading/writing introductions this weekend? I've got a friend bringing her kids over Saturday afternoon and then we're going to her house Sunday for playing 3rd Ed Dungeons and Dragons.

It's 9:33pm in Seoul, so you were right about it being evening. I haven't had a chance to read everyone's intro's but here are the people who stood out to me.

quoting_mungo has a vibrant tone about her personality, both in her intro, and in comments.

thundrstd had short, punchy sentences that were clearly and unpretentiously written.

georgiejihad spent half the intro talking about his inner life, which I always find more fascinating than the external.

notbatman made me laugh, which is very valuable.

God it looks different in here! But a little bit the same too. So many of the same people! But the walls are such a lovely shade of blue.

Pardon me if I don't start reading right away. Life has gotten somewhat busy with a new baby and preschool starting and trying to get back to work. But I'm here and I'll be reading when I get the chance :)

Who Has Stood Out To Me & Why:

1. plunderedheart because she has an amazingly engaging and lyrical poignant voice. I'm absolutely in love with her writing style.

2. callistahogan because this girl is the youngest competitor I've seen so far, yet her writing has a quality, intelligence and innocence that drew me in.

3. thisgirliknow because while she kept things short, she was able to really draw her reader in, and her personality absolutely shone in her introduction!

Morning everyone!

I will be catching up on the players (old and new) this weekend. I am working on a Super-Sekrit project right now that I hope to announce next week. Between that, fighting-city-hall, sewing, personal writing, and trying to keep ahead of my housework, I am short on time.

Oh, and for those who are following my saga from yesterday (http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/257693.html?thread=23391901#t23391901), I got the Planning Board to issue a new permit yesterday. This morning the office manager walked it across the hall to the Revenue Department, where my business license was waiting for me.

I just want to know on what sick, sick planet I woke up on that I am actually awake at this ungodly hour. Seriously. I *NEVER* wake up this early. I knew I went to bed too early last night. But I was up like half the night I don't know how I'm awake right now.

So I'm enjoying some time in the Green Room and some donuts :) I have extras! And then I think I will try to go back to sleep but if my back keeps hurting I might have to go take a hot shower. It's been sore since last night.

Hellooooo Green Room!

I am getting ready for my second daytrip this week from Massachusetts to New York... don't have quite so far to go this time as I did on Tuesday, but it's still a haul. Filing papers at the County Clerk's office and then having dinner with a writer-colleague.

I'm still only on the first page of introduction posts, so I'm drawing from a limited pool, but the ones that jumped out at me from that small sampling were sdaisyk, stormkitty, and chipshopness.

I expect to spend the weekend concocting soup and reading the rest of the intros. Since my muscles will be about the consistency of soup after everything I've put them through this week, soup will be appropriate.

I've so far only read a handful of intros; I'm looking forward to reading quite a bit more this weekend! The problem is always remembering who-wrote-what when there are still so many people - it's why at some point I make a spreadsheet for voting purposes, so I know if I've read the entries that week (esp if I'm doing it before the polls) and whether or not I feel compelled to cast a vote for that contestant or not.

I must be crazy for doing this a third time, LOL.

But we're going to be heading up to the Ohio RenFaire this Sunday, so that will be fun!

I picked up my new glasses yesterday and get to show them off this weekend at the playtest. I've been getting ready for that instead of reading intros. So, Sunday will probably be a full day of reading.

I'm really excited and happy about all the new people. I'm looking forward to getting to know as many of them as possible.

I love days off from school. It means I can sleep in as late as I want, which I haven't had the chance to do in who knows how long. I feel nice and refreshed and awake now. :D

I haven't gotten to reading many introductions yet, but since I have a four-day weekend, that's going to be my goal. No one's really stood out to me yet in terms of introductions, but the ones I've read have all been great.
