I was innocently listening to 80s songs and chatting with my brother on AIM when my husband (across the room) shouted, "YES!" and "Check your friend's list."

I've been reading hella, not working as much as I should, and exercising and playing many video games. Enjoying the nice weather here. : )

I am recovering from the cold I had all week, thanks to my son ;-) I am being totally lazy.

It's sunny and 41 here, already down from 50 (50!!) but heading down to more cold.

I don't know what's with all-week colds lately, but I'm sorta glad I wasn't the only one (I got that either last week or the week before; can't remember which). I was nervous that my immune system was all wonky, but I guess the 1-week cold is going around. That said, glad you're getting some relief. : )

oh my. 103.1? You should seriously post about all the delirious thoughts you had while your fever was that high. I get pretty dilirious at 102 +.

Decent day here.

My mom and brother came down yesterday and brought me some new (well, old, but new to us) furniture for my living room. The loveseat has built-in recliners that are a lot easier for me to sit in comfortably with my leg.

Later this evening a friend is driving down from Greensboro (about 2 hours away) to socialize and bring vittles. This is also nice. Tomorrow a co-worker is coming to visit.

I have surgery on my leg on Thursday. I'm not particularly looking forward to this, but hopefully I will feel better after this.

Right now I am cuddling on the couch with several cats and my wonderful girlfriend, who has been doing a very good job if taking care of me. I'm sure she's frustrated but she's mostly hiding it and helping me out. I hate feeling like an invalid, and I'm immensely appreciative of her.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who has offered all their well wishes to me. The outpourings of support from my friends has really been amazing. I feel lucky.

I've been a human pinball all day so far. The only thing I couldn't do was get into our local Wally World. The lines were unbelievable, even for a Sunday :shudder: I ended up leaving everything I'd wanted to get because, if I hadn't, I'd still be waiting!

However, I finally got my hair cut! Woot!

Gotta go do some other stuff. I'll be back!

Whattup? There's something completely wrong with it being so nice and warm outside in MID FEBRUARY that I took the boys out to potty in short sleeves and no shoes. heheh

Actually, to me, there's something very RIGHT about a warm stretch in mid-February. Most years on Long Island, when I was growing up, we'd have three to five days in a row every year like this. We don't always have that here in MA.

It really helps me keep going and gives me hope that Spring will come, even when after the warm days we go right back to blizzards.

Today I took my computer to the Apple Store. They determined that the problem was, indeed, the power supply. They apologized for not having the part in stock but told me they'd make it up to me by waiving the labor costs, and estimated three to five days for the part to arrive and be installed.

About two hours later, they phoned back, and said guess what, they did have a working power supply after all, and my computer was all healthy again, and I could pick it up whenever. The guy explained when I got to the store that it was the same part, just filed under a different part number in the system.

Good afternoon, Green Room.

I'm recovering after a long car trip and an abbreviated-but-packed few hours at New York Comic Con. We got back in the door here at 3AM.

As far as past-seasons and present-seasons LJ Idolers... Met up with popfiend. Got to finally meet puppetmaker40 after three years corresponding on LiveJournal. Tried my damndest to hook up with lordrexfear, but it apparently was not to be.

Met old friends in the industry and made several new friends, and actually made a few sales to retailers on BLAKE'S 7. An exciting day... I just wish we had either had all weekend to be there or even just have gotten there earlier in the day.

Spend the entire weekend stuck in bed due to a ferocious attack of the 'flu. Crap!

On the upside, I think this is the first time I've been really sick in 6 years. If I can go that long between each illness I really shouldn't complain.

: ( That flu thing is awful. I used to tell my friends, "Don't ever get married until you've seen your fiance with the flu." I think it's probably the best advice on marriage I've ever come up with.

I hate being stuck in bed, but sometimes the body just needs it. Hoping your recovery is quick and you go even longer between this and the next sickness.

Just got back from the funeral festivities in Kansas, so it's time to get caught up on everything that has gone to hell over the last two weekends. The primary being housecleaning and laundry. The laundry HAS to be done so I don't wear my Spongebob jammies to work tomorrow, but I think the housecleaning is going to have to fall somewhere behind Idol reading and voting...which I will be getting to just as soon as I get back from the grocery. Can't wait to get to all of your entries!

I'm trying to get the winter issue of my literary magazine up while it's still winter. But first I had to finish reading and voting (done!), and I've been spending too much time culling my Favorites file and watching West Side Story (got a bad disc and have to return it - feh!), and American Idol: The Best of Seasons 1-4. I have mentioned I'm a multitasker, right?

We're having a Spring weekend in La. Right now there's a huge flock of birds flying around from tree to tree in the surrounding neighbor's yards, a la Steel Magnolias. I love watching and listening to them, so it's nice.

Spent yesterday at geekjul's house with dabhug. There was stamping, there was liquor, there was food, there was much visiting. It was nice.

Today I had lunch with my office mate and a friend of hers. Now I want to have a nap.

Have finished voting. Will probably read home game entries this evening.

After spending all day yesterday helping an ex-girlfriend move (cthulhumistress, one of the good ones) I have decided not to go outside all day today.

Seriously, I only put on pants so that I could leave my bedroom and do laundry.

Right now, I'm watching Ace of Cakes and Creamsickle is sitting in a Kitty Kave, not sleeping, just contently looking out through the entrance at the rest of the room.
