Just a *tad* distracted this weekend. Spent all day yesterday at the NFL Expeience! Anyone at all interested in football should check it out if your town ends up hosting the Super Bowl!

Anyone not interested in football. . . *looks around* hmmm. . . wonder if I can just do a "not rooting for the Steelers" elimination round!*G*

I'm not a football fan, and really couldn't care less, except that none of my friends are going to be around online tonight because they're watching or going to parties.

I don't understand why people get all tied up in professional sports.

High school and college I can understand. Those players are your kids, your friends, your roommates. Pro teams trade players back and forth so much you can end up rooting one year for the guy you wanted killed last year.

And they get paid gazillions of dollars to play a game while police officers and fire fighters and school teachers work second jobs to get by.

Er. Go whoever!

I've just found out that my partner who is currently on a dig on the other side of the world is being admitted to the hospital with pneumonia.

Me, not so secretly being a boy most of the time, is crawling the fucking walls because I cannot apply problem solving to this situation.

I don't really care about football. I like the Superbowl commercials though. What time does the Superbowl start? We're going out to see Taken this evening at 5:45, but I'm sure we'll set the DVR for the Superbowl.

I have some mini corndogs in the freezer, maybe I'll make those to snack on later.

Right now we have some friends over, and we're watching Nickelodeon since that's what the 5-year-old wants. *shrug*

(I think my "Golden Snitch" icon is the closest thing I have to a sports-related icon, LOL. Sad, nu?)

I need to be getting off the computer and going to work. I'd rather be watching the Superbowl, and am hoping that enough people disagree with me that we'll have audiences for both shows.

I don't really have a stake in this game, I just hope it is good, close football. And I'm hoping that all the good commercials end up on youtube.

Currently watching the Ghost Hunters marathon, waiting for friends to come over for our fortnightly RPG and a surprise late birthday party for one of them.

I was rather amused when I realized today was Superbowl Sunday and not one member of the group had mentioned it or requested to switch our week so they could watch the game.

we are partying it up today. Got wings, cookies, and blanketed pigs. We should have about 15 people here, so everyone gets four inches of television. But I'll probably fall asleep on the floor.

Today is Mission Clean-Up at Chez Kizzy. SO's on a business trip for a good chunk of the week. When he returns, we have less than 24 hours to get ready for our out-of-town visitors.

It's unbelievable the stuff I'm finding when I go through cabinets and whatnot. I found a stack of my artwork from elementary school stashed behind glasses I used when I was a little kid! More Christmas ornaments! Ribbon! And jewelery nestled in old cups on the very top shelf!

Now here's a Bowl activity I can get behind!

Had a lovely weekend, altogether. Friday was Chinese New Year (and too much beer). Saturday was a babyshower that I threw for a wonderful friend that went really well (and too much food). This morning I went to Atlanta Comic-con, this afternoon I went to my writer's group, and this evening is the annual "EVERYONE IS WATCHING TV SO LET'S GO TO A REALLY GOOD RESTAURANT" night. :)

for those of you following along... i am home after spending most of the day with the inlaws because of the noxious fume problem with my heating system. the heat is currently working, they claim it "should get you through until tomorrow"

my house still smells a bit, and it's giving me a headache. My cats are okay which makes me think we won't die from inhaling it throughout the night.

Last night I was terrified that our heating system was going to explode, tonight i am terrified that the smell isn't oil but carbon monoxide, even though i know it is odorless, and that it will kill us in our sleep.

so i guess it's time to go buy a carbon monoxide detector.

The University my brother attends has employed him to feature an orchestral interpretation of one of the idol topics that I wrote earlier this season. In order to make it "fit" I re-wrote it so that it would fit into 4 movements. The school has also shown interest in publicizing a more polished/edited rendition of my original entry, full length to go hand and hand with the concert.

Anyway, for anyone interested in writing for orchestration, I went a head and went back to my old idol entry and added my revised version for orchestration to the entry as well. If you click the link, you'll see it in its original form for idol and then after that, you'll see it in a revised shorter form for orchestration. I thought if anything it might help others see a way to condense a story down into different musical movements or it might be something other idolers are just interested in reading.
