I only got about three hours sleep last night and had to be at work at 5 a.m. (and I'm working on my day off!) Fortunately, it's only a short shift and I plan to be in bed and snoozing by 10 a.m.
I wish I had written my zombie survival post. If I make it through this to another open topic I'm definitely going to make it about zombie survival; that's my best writing.
Other than that things are good. My two dogs go in to daycare on Fridays, so the house is eerily quiet, but it leaves me time to get some work done around here and they come home tired/happy later tonight. Going out to lunch with my wife for some Middle Eastern, and generally ready to have a good day.
Oh today's my headmate's Birthday thecuteone33, it's our biological birthday (I'm the only one that has a separate birthday and don't ask me how that happened!)
To those that have been asking - yeah we're a lot better now...
I woke up at 7:15 and checked the Green Room. I thought that I might be first.
I went back to my bedroom to get dressed and accidentally fell back asleep. I dreamed that I was hitting Refresh on the Green Room, trying to be first.
And, while hitting F5, I surfed through some webcomics. One of the webcomics I found involved the ghosts of Maleficent from Disney's Sleeping Beauty and Batman were trying to escape the underworld. And, to do so they had to trick a great green dragon. But, the dragon realized its mistake and sent the most powerful warriour at its disposal (which included all dead comic book and cartoon characters as well as ones no longer in print).
The warriour sent to take care of Batman and Maleficent was none other than Groo the Wanderer!
So, while I was reading the webcomic (which was animated with similar graphic style of World of Warcraft) Kizzy, Brightflashes and jfargo all beat me to the Green Room. I was complaining about it to a co-worker when I woke up.
Having a decent night's sleep (despite the Charley Horse o'Doom) is such a good thing.
Today my daughter goes for x-rays and a mouth mold, as a start to the orthodontic process. Next week we'll find out the price tag. Thus, our Month o'Doom will continue into February ;-)
My husband blogula is working from home, which is always a plus. Hugs on tap!
I had a really weird dream last night that hubby and I were moving to a house being vacated by one of my RL/LJ friends, and the landlords had the same dishes as we do (which are ancient from when my parents were first married) and it had this little room downstairs that I thought was perfect to be my Writing Room. Apparently my subconscious thinks I should keep doing this thing.
Off to do a training for rehab counselors on transportation options. Then off to lunch with one of my former students and another friend. So that should be fun. At least I'm out of the office for a bit. I'll catch up with everyone later! Happy Friday! It is much needed!
I have an interview at 3:30. Just got a sort of interview for Monday. I have a baby shower that I'm hosting tomorrow and one that I'm hosting next weekend.
I feel increasingly like my life is swirling out of control...
And despite it all, I'm epically glad that it's Friday.
The kid on Anya's Sesame Street video is eating a banana - the banana was already prepared so that when he pealed the peel back, it would look perfect. It's an outrage! It gives kids unrealistic ideas about the ways bananas peel.
How am I doing today? Eh. Better today than I was yesterday, rinse and repeat.
I absolutely cannot keep track of what day today is. I'm probably not needed at work today, but I need to call and check, which I managed to completely forget for a long stretch of time because I was convinced it was Saturday. Then I keep going back to thinking it may be Saturday. WTF, brain?
In better news, I may have an agent for my book. Difficult to type with crossed fingers, but I'd better learn to manage...
It's a long story but I have to take my driving exam today. The entire thing...written and driving.
I'll be 34 next week so this is ridiculous.
I only noticed it expired about a month ago and have been driving on a permit since then. It will be nice to be able to hop in the car without grabbing my 19 year old ghetto fabulous Katrina transplant neighbor to go with me...you gotta have a licensed driver, yo. I can't take a chance of getting caught with my kiddos with me. Blahblahblah...
I remember when I moved to Ohio, I had to retake the written and driving exam. They wouldn't accept my West Virginia driver's license as proof that I could drive.
Silly Ohio people. If you can drive in WV, you can drive anywhere. WV has cliffs and mountains and ice and guard rails made out of cable painted white and threaded through wooden posts. Not to mention the crazy people who plan to go drunk driving as an activity (and I'm not making this up, I worked with someone who bragged that going out drunk in a Ford 150 was the highlight of her weekend.)
As I posted in my personal LJ earlier, any day you're alive is a good one (doom or not). I just inadvertently pimped LJ Idol to a friend, who now thinks she may want to play next season (I could not, sadly, entice her over to the green room this season).
I feel good. It's not as cold and though they told me I wouldn't see results for a month, the chemo seems to be working.
It's FRIDAY :D I hope everyone else is having a good one.
Tomorrow we put the potatoes and onions in. This is the first time I've ever planted them here in Florida so I'm wondering if it will work. Also, we have strawberry roots. I've never planted them this way either so we'll see what happens.
I need canning equipment. If the plants survive, there will be food everywhere. On the other hand, canning involves a pressure cooker. If you see a mushroom shaped cloud over north central Florida, you'll know what happened....

Well last night he had a nightmare around 4:30am and never went back to sleep. Which went I didn't really go back to sleep much either.
So I guess the Doom has followed me into my own home, thanks a lot Gary!
