Last night I had a few "it's been HOW LONG?" moments when I heard from a couple people that I haven't seen in years. One of them I realized that I lost contact with in '95 or so! Oops.*g*

Finally made it to the gym last night and worked out, which made for a lovely nights sleep but the whole getting up was worse then normal.

Had all good intentions on going in to work today. But the intentions fell by the wayside when the reality hit that I am exhausted just by getting coffee. I guess the plague has not left me yet. One more day. I just called in to check my sick hours and yahoo I have enough without dipping into my vacation hours. So this is a good thing. So I'll be here to chat and blow my nose.

I woke up at 5:30, so figured I would get up to check on a possible school delay. An hour later, they were still updating the list :-P I gave up at 6:30, woke my daughter up, and told her to be careful on the driveway. Went back to sleep (delicious!) but had to wake back up at 8 when hubby left for work. SO GROGGY - just coming out of the cloud now with some coffee.

Meanwhile, my son is bouncing around, being Obi-Wan and slaying things with his knight's armor (chest piece and shield and sword).

Must write entry this afternoon! The idea finally came, it's just having a quiet moment to do it. Yesterday was a snow day and the whole family was home. Very nice, but not quiet or conducive to writing!

OMG you guys, I am so freaking blown away by the quality of this week's entries! I posted mine last night and it's something I would normally feel pretty good about- not my favorite of the season but not the worst either- but compared to the ones I've read so far... ack!! Talk about needing to bring your "A" game!

I'm at work, wishing I were home. Bleh. I didn't do laundry last night like I should have, which left me scrounging for clothes this morning, and you know how it is when you're not happy with what you're wearing? It's like a bad hair day, it overshadows everything? Oh well, I shouldn't whine! What is is about this room that brings out the emo whiney thing in me? Bah! I'm going to post a happy happy gratitude list on my journal today to make up for it!!

So, for those of you who have been following along with my drama all week, I wanted to say thank you so much for all the support. I haven't been really able to answer comments to my post yet, but I hope to feel up to it soon.

For now, the news is confirmed. There isn't enough work to justify keeping me on at my current job, so I will be job hunting, with my boss' help over the next month - six weeks.

Wish me luck!

It's not the outcome I would have chosen, but given the way this week played out, I do think it's for the best. I could never have been happy here again and if I'm honest, I haven't been happy here in months.

Am I alone in really enjoying this week's topic? For me, the hard part was isolating what angle I wanted to take on it. There were so many different things that I could write on.

Has Gary ever done a multiple-post week? Where he gives a single topic and we write different angles on it and then get voted not just on the one post, but on the two different ones?

I'm thinking a broad topic like "Music / Poetry" and then we write one essay due Tue, another one due Thurs, and a third one due Sat and the voting is open from Sat to Mon for those of us who complete the trifecta.

Is anyone going to try to murder me for suggesting it?

I'm off to my new job in about two hours. I'm really nervous (especially since I don't know ANYONE and have never worked in a bank before). But oh well. I guess I will deal, right?

I'm going downstairs now to shower and possibly fix the hem on a pair of pants. (I tried them on last night only to find that ZOMG TOO LONG. I'm 5'7 and they're still too long! WTF?! They're dress pants!)
