Hello!

This whole "sleeping in" thing is nice. Of course come Monday it's back to my normal work schedule. But I'm trying to enjoy the time off while I can!

I mentioned that I was going to bring something up in today's Green Room post, if I wasn't too tired to remember! Apparently I *was*!

I know there are some fans of Season 3's runner up bettybaker out there, and for those who aren't, it's just as a matter of "you aren't yet*". She designed that nifty "Season 5 starts now" banner and over the last couple of months has created two very unique and downright interesting reads with what I can only call "Graphic Blogs".

Her new one: thesilverhollow is just starting up, and looks very promising. So if you want to go support a fellow Idoler in a creative endeavor (and get a good read out of the experience) - here's your chance!

It's also my duty to report that there have been two pre-deadline drops today/last night: beldar and bodlon. We're going to miss you!

We're heading down to Pigeon Forge for the weekend - we never get tired of it! There's a hotel with a lovely indoor swimming pool, just right for a relaxing weekend getaway. :)

I am working from home today so it was so nice to roll out of bed and log into work. No rushing around getting ready, no standing in the cold waiting for the bus.
Just sitting in here the jammies working and drinking coffee. I wish I could do this all the time.

Tired, I think I'll need a vacation from my vacation. ;) I keep staying up too late, thinking "hey, it's vacation, I don't have to get up early". Unfortunately, for the kids, "vacation" means getting up extra early since they get to PLAY instead of go to school. Heh.

I'm going shopping at some point today to get some craft supplies. Other than some copper beads and findings, I'm not sure what I'm getting yet, but I have some ideas. Part of the trip is "research", if nothing else.

We had such an interesting discussion on New Year's Eve, I thought I'd pose another question to the GR.

How much time do you spend editing your entry? Do you just blart it out and hit post? Run spellcheck? Proofread? Have a friend look at it? Tweak it and move sentences around? Fuss with it a dozen times after initially posting it? All of the above?

If I am working on it while at work usually I will just quickly read it and post which sometimes is not the best idea as I usually miss some typo's and whatnot. Then kick myself for posting something with a bunch of errors, other times I will reread it and beat it like a dead horse, then I start completely over due not liking what I did to it.

Oh, has anyone ever been secretly tempted to reserve a spot on the first page when linking your entry? I mean post a usless comment such as "SPOT RESERVED FOR boxsofrain, then edit it later with your link?

I am loving the sleeping in. Monday is going to be a rude awakening (heh!) for my whole family :-P

Today I will be getting ready for my daughter, the lovely furuba9, to turn 14 tomorrow. I have no idea how I can have a 14 year old!!!

Otherwise, it is more of the same for this week - lounging around in pajamas until lunchtime, and enjoying the family time! Oh, and staying warm!! Although today we are up from 0 degrees to a balmy 24 ;-)

Today feels like a Monday to me. We actually had a lot of orders yesterday to go out today, because of our sale, and I have more tax-type paperwork to go through. People in the outside world are gearing up for their real Monday, so I expect to gear up this weekend to anticipate that.

I'll add my voice to the chorus of bettybaker fans. I loved-loved-loved junemcgee, even when it flayed all the flesh off my bones and made my heart hurt. I'm looking forward to thesilverhollow.

Sigh.... yay, another day off! Slept late, then hubby and I set up wireless network for the house. We brought home the computer from his store when we cleared it out, so now we each have our own computer. He's downloading WoW - I may never see him again LOL!

Today I'm in total goof-off mode, so I expect to get a lot of my reading and voting done today.

Today is another day off. Hubby is at the gym. I want to go to campus and get a parking pass so I don't have to worry about it Monday, and also go to the post office and mail my Christmas cards. (Christmas lasts until January 6th, so I am in no way late.)

I thought strongly about using my "bye" this week. I didn't, because I had promised myself I wouldn't use a bye. If my goal was strictly to stay in the game and/or win, I would've.

But a topic came to mind that just sort of gripped me and I knew, for I guess existential reasons, I just had to write this entry. I haven't checked the polls yet, because I need to read all the entries first to vote. I don't think this week's entry will be a very popular one, but I felt strongly about posting it anyway.

Morning green room,

Yesterday and today have already been busy with paying bills, yes, you read that right. How responsible of me or something. LOL!

I have also been taking care of other business that has needed to be done for three of the organizations I belong to.

I feel down right accomplished. Of course this means I have not done any LJ reading. Oh well, off to do that and vote now.

Need more coffee while I am at it.
