Good afternoon and Happy, Merry, Joyous, Sneezy, Smelly (your adjective here) Christmas to you!

I hope everyone is having a good day and is enjoying the time off to spend with family, friends and the assorted "special friend".*G*

Not sure that anyone will actually be checking in online to spend time with their Idol family, but just in case - here's a Green Room!

There's a chance that I'll be getting the right adapter cable tomorrow (or this weekend) so I'll be back up to full speed soon. Heh, I say chance because of course there's also a chance that it's not that at all and is in fact gremlins infesting the computer and that's a whole different problem!

In any case though it's back to normal on Monday, well, ok, it's going into the Month of Doom. (nothing says "Christmas post" quite like making references to *doom*. *smiles* good times. . .)

At any rate, I hope you guys are all enjoying your day!

Still here, waiting to be whisked off to dinner at some point. Incredibly nice weather in Charlotte has meant that I've been outside reading for over two hours. Glad it doesn't feel like Christmas, at least. I'm sure winter will return soon enough, though. Can't wait to get my eat on!

Spent Christmas with Grampa; went over to his house to open gifts.

Spent most of the rest of the day testing my new CD's and headphones (yea!)

Just got done with dinner, again with Grandpa and am hiding back here now. Have candles lit 'cause I kinda feel like having something on my alter going for the day. :)

We opened gifts this morning - w00t! I got a metric tonne of stuff for the kitchen:

* a new microwave - it's red metallic, so cool!
* a set of red KitchenAid cookware
* coordinating red accessories (spatula, slotted spoon, ice cream scoop, manual can opener, etc)
* a 7-quart red crockpot (my old one is maybe 4-quarts and I think I got it 15 years ago when we got married...)
* a new set of kitchen knives in a butcher block holder
* a red breadbox
* a copy of Lady Jane on DVD
* the I Can Haz Cheezburger LolCat colleckshun book
* a copy of The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray (3rd book in a series I've been reading)
* Season 1 of The Partridge Family on DVD, which came in a lunchbox case, LOL.
* a board game, some CDs, and too much Christmas candy!

We also went down to my MIL's house and had Christmas dinner with her, so that was nice!

Just chilling out and watching some TV right now while hubby sleeps...

Caroline made out like a bandit between grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles.

We saw The Tale of Desperaux and it was not bad.

~a sweater and turtleneck from my sister
~travel mugs from my nephew
~3 CD's and a candle from <lj user=imafarmgirl ~a fleece outfit and candy from my friend from the Netherlands ~canned relish and jam from a coworker ~a gift certificate to go out to eat from a neighbor ~Candy from another neighbor So giftwise it was a good Christmas. I'm glad the family thing is over and happy to be with my GR family! Smile!

From hubby I got two Wii games, the fourth Wii mote(now I just need the nunchucks), four books, the Wii fit(which I got in October but it was technically a Christmas present), Wii points.

From mom and dad I got a DS lite game (which I've beaten and will probably exchange for another one tomorrow), and lotion set.

Girls are happy with theirs, one got an Xbox 360, two games, earbuds, and a movie and the other got a new cell phone with all the bells and whistles, two movies, and some books.

We're hoping that it won't be snowed out in the grapevine tomorrow so we can head over to Claudia's brother's place (I'm not big on staying overnight but at least it breaks up the long drive)

We received a new convection/rotisserie toaster oven...only big item we received. Carrie's old man's not doing gifts because..well um..*coughs* it's sore subject at this point, but spending time with him wasn't so bad. I think I had the urge to hit him once and that's it...

Ahhh... how I have missed having an easy access to the Internet. I promise I will never take it for granted again.

Who am I kidding? As soon as I have my high-speed back I am gonna go right back to my band-width-wasting ways.

I am looking forward to the Month of Doom. My December was one to Remember. Big parts of 2008 sucked for me (though not all) and I am looking forward to the calendar rollover.

ZOMG I GOT A PINK LAPTOP. WITH A WEBCAM ON IT. ZOMG!!!! (Also got a pink ski jacket and lots of other goodies including EIGHT Yankee Candles. All different flavors. Good thing I'm a pyro-maniac.)

We are leaving Saturday afternoon. We have LOTS LOTS LOTS to do before we leave. Good thing I'm not leaving the house tomorrow! I just hope that Gary takes a little pity on me since I'll be out of town all next week (until Jan 4th). I'll still have net access, but because I'm visiting friends, I won't be online constantly.

I was out all day, so never did check LJ today, until getting home. we are not celebrating Xmas until 2009 since my sister is away... Today was just hanging out with my parents anyways, and we each had one gift to open so it was alright.
