In the spirit of Hanukkah today we celebrate a week that went on longer than expected!*G*

Speaking of, I had planned it all out a couple weeks ago that I was going to wish everyone a separate "happy" whatever for various holidays. But for some reason I could have sworn that I read Hanukkah started today!!! I was corrected as soon as I actually got caught up with my FL! *head desk*

I hope it's been a good one so far!!

So before I forget - Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas (for our damn foreign friends), Blessed Yule, Joyous Kwanzaa, Happy Santa Day, Merry Gimmee Presents Day!!! (and anything else that I might not be thinking of at the moment I'm sure there's a bunch of them)

Busy, busy, busy. Tomorrow we leave for a nice 6 hour car ride to see my family, then on Saturday we head over three hours west to see hers and our friends. It should be a fun trip, but prepping for the trip is always the worst pain in the butt.

Anyone else have fun holiday plans?

Crazy morning.

My boss is off for the holidays and my coworker in Indiana is "in charge". I just had to call her.

Me: Before I say anything, I just want you to know I know how ridiculous this sounds.
Her: Oh, by all means go ahead then. :)
Me: Well, it rained last night, and temperatures here are just below freezing, and all the bridges and overpasses are closed.
Her: Well that IS ridiculous! Are you serious?

Yes folks, I live in Louisiana. They've shut I-20, I-49, I-220, and both bridges over the Red River.

I'll be going in late to work.

I feel your pain. My family is from Louisiana and I'm from just over the border in Texas. Here in Georgia, if a single snowflake dares to make its way downward, all schools are shut down and everyone depletes all stores of milk and bread.

Crazy last few days around here; I get my car back from the repair shop Friday...and some idiot decides to attempt coming down the hill during Saturday's snowstorm, promptly fishtailing into my rear bumper.

Between that and the snow, I'm fortunate to have a friend willing to drive me to and from work. (Yeah, I *could* drive, in theory--but given that the only exit/entrance to the apartment complex is a very steep hill, I'm not chancing it.)

Yes, tomorrow I start what I call my Christmas Mania. I have to spread my presence (and presents) between three households in two days plus work.

Then I would collapse, but I have to work the day after Christmas. In fact, I have to work an extra long day to make up for Christmas Day.

I'm still waiting for two presents to arrive in the mail....**mild panic**

Had another job interview, but it didn't go.
Girl: Haven't you been here before?
Me: Um... I think so.
Girl: We have a new owner.
Mom: WIll you take her resume again?
Girl: I'll take it and tell D*** that you're still interested in the position.

Heh, that interview was for the same place I applied for about five months ago or something. It was actually just a few weeks after I'd gotten Lou. Ironic much?

We went shopping afterward, so not a total bust. That was yesterday. :d

Unloaded/reloaded the dishwasher thismorning after taking care of a couple of RP pieces. Relaxing now.

Life Coach appointment in about an hour, then the day is free. Mom's gone over to grandpa's to help him with some things, so I'm alone in the house right now.

I'm very happy to have woken up headache-free, after 3 mornings of waking up with a migraine. Plus actually sleeping THROUGH the night! All hail Ambien!

Today we get a break in the weather - still only 17 degrees, but we can haz sun! And nothing is falling out of the sky! That changes again tomorrow.

Last day of school for the kids. I can't remember the last time they had Christmas Eve day off, usually it's an early release day for them. They are very excited (including the almost-14-year-old!).

I think I am done - I really need a few stocking stuffers for my hubby, that I may run out later today to get. Must start wrapping.

On a sadder note, my ex-MIL passed away. So after Christmas I have a funeral to attend. Plus this is my daughter (the almost-14-year-old)'s grandmother, so I'll be attending for her support and all. It'll be her first funeral :-(

I've just got some wrapping to do and then it's the perpetual dishes and ubiquitous laundry. *sigh* Why don't they take a holiday?

After that I'm going to do some drawing. Mostly just for fun but, who knows, I may get a new icon or two from it. The kid's home from school now so we may get some Diablo II in this afternoon. We like to play that one together - that and Worms on the PS3. (He annihilates my ass but it's fun!)

Hubby's late at work today for the office Christmas Party that got cancelled on Friday due to snow. More snow due today so I hope it's not cancelled again.

Good morning! Went and saw some fabulous lights around the MIL's neighborhood with the BIL and wife and kid. Anyone who lives in a place where it gets this damned cold is nucking futs. Degrees are not supposed to be in single digits, people.

We had loads of fun and checked out the very awesome window displays along downtown Greensville...I felt I was back in the 50's, it was great

Happy Solstice! I got an awesome Solstice present from my roommate of a wall calendar with not only my pagan holidays, but also Christian, Jewish, Eastern Orthodox, Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic holidays, so now I can wish ALL my coworkers happy whatever - and ask questions. I like asking questions. It's also got the phases of the moon, which we're always arguing around here.

Today is the last day of anyone in the office but me for several days. But more importantly, I'm one day closer to the arrival of stagger_lee77 and supremegoddess1 on Friday!!!!
