It's icky outside; therefore, I declare today as Chore Day.

Speaking of names, what sometimes drives me nuts is mispronunciation. There are a lot of Gaelic-derived names in my neck of the woods -- evidently the "trendy" thing to do -- and sometimes I just want to shake the parents. Take the name "Caitlin", for instance. Everyone pronounces it Kate-lynn when, in fact, it's correct pronunciation in Gaelic is Kath-rehn. Caitlin is Gaelic for Katherine! Hello?!? And that includes my SIL who named her eldest daughter that!

Good morning all! Today is going to be a bit crazy as it marks the transition between jobs for me. I get to be at the warehouse until 12:30, then get out of there and over to the theatre office in time to prep for a meeting at 3p. Whee!

Progress is being made on my health issues! Got my referrals, got stronger pain meds (now quite comfortable, heheheh). Able to move about a bit and get a few things done.

Hey, I got company coming this Saturday. We decided to forgo the usual Christmas fare and instead I'm offering a choice of homemade gumbo or wankers to be roasted outside in the bonfire. I also have the stuff for s'mores and I'll be baking two pies and some cookies.

We have a covering of snow, but I don't think we've hit two inches yet. The boy and I went grocery shopping last night for staple foods, and we're snugged in for the day.

Oh, I want your snow! I miss it so much. I've seen it here in north central Florida, but it doesn't stick; it melts about four to six feet above the ground. And today, for some strange reason, it's in the 80s again.

I love grocery shopping! We're going on Friday to prepare for the party.

Hi! It's been a zoo this morning! First of all I had to trudge down my hill in snow. It was a bit slippery but I made it without crashing into the pavement. So this is a good thing.

Since I haven't been in this office in 5 days I had stacks of mail and tons of messages to return. So now I'm at least able to breathe a bit.

I don't know how much I'll be around til later but I'll try to pop in when I can!
