Eliminations - Week 11

Some weeks you get the results and you shrug and say "Well, ok, I saw that coming." Not that you like it particularly, but just that it doesn't surprise you all that much.

Some weeks are a surprise.

Some combine both a surprise and a general theme. The theme of 2 of the 3 votes seems to be "cartoon porn references does not = votes". Which is a surprise in and of itself really.*g*

The first two we are saying goodbye to today fit into that category:

protoman185

The third was a surprise in and of itself. Because I'll be completely frank here - I didn't think she was in danger this week or even though she's been down in the polls I always thought she was one step away from climbing up into a safe zone and staying for a good long time.

Perhaps that would have ended up happening. But in this case changed_4good used her immunity to save millysdaughter.

Which means the person with the second fewest votes from that tribe has been eliminated.

In this case that means we are saying goodbye to sky_designs.

This is the second immunity to be used this season. dizzydog was saved from elimination in Week 9 that resulted in a run-off where marjory was eliminated.

There is one immunity left to be played.

Hey Gary, can you clarify that was an immunity and not a bye? People have been suggesting that I "save" people when they are "in trouble", and that's not something I can do with a bye. I just want everyone to be clear. Thanks!

I even *read* the word immunity there and yet somehow it came out wrong. It's been fixed.

For anyone wondering:
An immunity can be played up until the vote deadline. A bye has to be declared in place of a post before the topic deadline.

Immunity saves someone who didn't get enough votes.

A bye gives someone a round to rest. (which in some cases might just save someone when real life rears it's ugly head)

I'll miss playing, but hey, when it's time it's time. Between work and projects I'd be struggling.

I should've taken my bye... but I felt that was cheating. I had something. I went with it, not enough folks liked it because I didn't go personal.

I don't feel comfortable writing about my sexual life in a forum where ALL can read. Protected entries, sure... and some of you in LJ Idol are good enough friends to know what I'd probably write about... but... for LJ Idol? No... sorry.

Thanks, Gary. *smiles* It's sad to go, but with so many talented writers here, and only one winner, eventually all but one of us have to take this road. It doesn't mean that we're not good enough. Everyone here is amazing, and just being a part of the season has been fun. I've even got a bunch of real life friends from it.

Part of me wonders if I had found more time to be in the green room and chat... if I had actually put up those "Vote For Me" posts on Friday, if I might have lasted a few more weeks and gotten those votes up. But hey, I made it through 11 weeks and into the top 100. That's further than I thought I'd make it. :)

I'll be sticking around and playing in the home game, though I might take a break for a week or two for the holidays. We'll see.
