My weekend was full of pain, and more is going to follow - I finally called the dr's office about my back pain and the nurse that answered told me, over the phone that it's X problem and I should just take off-the-shelf painkillers and wait it out.

So of course after I hung up with her I've had the worst day since Tuesday (when it broke out), pain-wise. Painkillers? What painkillers? My back is laughing at the fucking painkillers.

Also had a fainting spell in the shower. Promising to shape up into a lovely day.

Oh goodness that's horrible! I hate that that is the default answer to back pain. Me and my dad were talking about this recently. I really hope it does shape up into a lovely day. Ibuprofen may be a lie, but it's probably the best thing for back aches I would imagine. Also, have you tried emu oil? Kroger here sells some called "blue stuff" - seriously - for aches and pains and all that helped me a lot during my pregnancy and for those awful times that I've gotten cricks in my neck and all.

My weekend was full and a wee bit frustrating. Friday and most of Saturday was spent dealing with a dead car and getting it repaire. Saturday night into Sunday was spent with a friend who is dealing with a breakup with her SO.

I'm off today, which is strange for a Monday. I just returned from taking The Kidz out. It's freezing out. And there are patches of black ice here and there :eek:

Today is Housewifey Chore Day. I also need to plan out what we're having for dinners this week because I'm sick and tired of the "let's open up the freezer" game at 5PM.

Oh, and I need to send a Christmas wish list to my extended family for our Secret Santa. I cruised around Amazon last night and picked out some stuff. Most of it are cookbooks. If anything, I'm consistent ;)

G'morning, Greenies!

I slept on the couch in front of the TV pretty much all day yesterday, so when it was "bedtime" I was wide awake... which was fun watching late-night TV and chatting on AIM, except when the alarm went off this morning- GAH! The coffeemaker at work here is kaput-- push the button and nothing happens!! I need to buy us a new, less-fancy one- this one has some sensor-thing that refuses to work, and I broke the top smacking it last week... OOPS!

I'm all done reading and voting. Good morning! I had to get moving right out of the gate today, as my daughter missed her bus to middle school. Husband was moving to catch his commuter bus, so that not only meant getting dressed myself but getting my 5yo son Mr Bear dressed and ready to face the 10 degree morning as well. All was done and done well - everyone worked together well *whew*. Now I am relaxing over fresh coffee and catching up on LJ!

My day involves unpacking the Christmas stuff that came out of the attic yesterday, and going to my music lesson at 12:30. That's as far ahead as I'm looking ATM.

Some great entries this week! I didn't get to leave as many comments as I would have liked, but this week was punctuated by:

a) I got married
b) I spent three days passing a gallstone(s) in which I was on my hands and knees begging the Universe to turn me to ash
c)my grandmother was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance (turns out to be pneumonia which is responding nicely to treatment... but I spent what time I wasn't dying of abdominal pain (and some when I was) at her side
d) planning my annual Chranksgiving party which takes place this coming Saturday
e) trying to keep my kids and hubby in a happy bubble, protected from all the CRAZY

Hope everyone has a great week... I will be cleaning and making North African food...

Plan A for putting our Christmas tree up this weekend didn't work (the couch was too big). We're implementing Plan B that will hopefully result in it being up this weekend (Plan B requires a more major furniture move, which means making room for said furniture elsewhere in the house, etc.).

I've been perusing a community here that's for making handmade gifts and getting some ideas. Now I just need to get around to implementing them. ;) Oh, and I started knitting my first hat this weekend, which I think is going to be way too big for even my big head, but I'm going to just go with it and see what happens. That's what I get for playing fast and loose with the yarn weight and needle size!

Last day of work for me till the new year. Tomorrow's the big day. I go into the hospital at 9:00am for 11:00am surgery. Today I'm just focussed on getting through the day without a god-damned cigarette. (Doc says no smoking for 24 hours prior.) Maybe I'll try to sleep between shifts today. LOL

*Bax thaws out hands so she can type* It was 2 degrees this morning when we walked to the bus stop! It's too cold for this time of year! We usually don't get that cold until mid January! and the weird thing is it's supposed to be 50 on Wednesday!

Weekend was quiet. I felt somewhat reclusive yesterday but seem to have snapped out of it this morning.

Ai yi yi! Talk about hitting the ground running! Had a great weekend by the beautiful Guadalupe river Christmasing with our riverat friends, came home and poor little Abbisita conked her head on the driveway. She's okay but she's got my drama queen attitude...she wailed when we gently picked her up, "Am I gonna die?!" Her little shoulder is sore and she's got a scratch and slight bruise on her forehead. The triage nurse cleared her and I just called the preschool and she's less energetic than usual but just fine. Oi!

My weekend was amazing. My weekends start on Friday I feel since I know I don't need to be in the office the next day, so I was out late having a blast. Two art shows and an amazing meal and lots of friends.

Saturday was out for photography and friends and then Sunday I saw BOLT with my mom and got new shoes.

Good times, good times.

Just got back from taking my roomie in for shoulder surgery. They chased me out of the waiting room and said to come back in a few hours, which is nice, since I think my hips are too wide for me to nap on the little couch.
