What kind of tricks?

Well for one it extends the deadline to get your topic entry in.

Why? Because reading and in some cases *posting* to LJ was disrupted at a crucial time, and I'm feeling generous during this holiday season. So anyone who still hasn't gotten their entry in has until 7 pm EST TONIGHT to get it in!!!

That roughly should give the same time frame that was lost. (Maybe not quite as much, but it does give some breathing room for those hard hit by it.)

Hopefully it will allow people to get in entries who might not have otherwise been able to do so.

It's Friday! Woohoo! Not much planned for the day. imafarmgirl and I are going to goof off a bit at lunch time. We're going to get the dogs' pictures taken with Santa! Silly I know but hey, why not?

I wish we could get Santa pictures with The Kidz. I think PetSmart or Petco has something like that every year...unfortunately neither of them are very dog-friendly, so I can just imagine what would happen while waiting in line...EEEK!

I was able to craft mine yesterday on lunch, but I know some people who only have time early in the week who were grumping about the outage really messing with their creative writing time. I'm glad they have a chance for a few more hours to work with.

If I thought I would have time to craft a better entry I would be all about this extended deadline. But I have a cold, and the boy has been throwing up all night. I don't see "free time" in my forseeable future. What I see is extensive naptime.

It is always a weird feeling to post something for idol that you know isn't your best. To suck it up and say, "I did the best I could under the circumstances, it is out of my control now."

And with that the boy started hacking all over my computer, thankfully he did not throw up this time. Guess that means it's time to go...

Ugh! The only things that ever helped me feel better when I was throwing up were Gatorade, hot tea (no milk), and saltine crackers. Oh, and lots of Pepto-Bismol. (Yay for the pink stuff!)
