Have you seen that?

If so, what do you think about the idea that people are less likely to speak up on social media, if they think folks disagree with them?

I'm not sure that they interviewed anyone who contributes to comments sections on Yahoo articles/YouTube videos! ;)

Is the "Snowden/NSA" topic really fair? "The NSA spies on your internet activity - hey, let's talk about this on the internet!!"

Are there areas where you get sucked into the "Spiral of Silence"? Issues that you wish you could talk about more, but that you're afraid people won't want to hear what you have to say? (I'd qualify it with "that you actually know something about - but most people online tend to talk about things they *haven't* done any research on. :D)

Will this report help to silence you on the issue of people not talking about Snowden/NSA?

Hopefully this study will make you want to go out and talk more about something folks *are* talking about - an area where people can have different opinions about what is and isn't completely awesome, but all come to the same conclusion - that voting in the LJ Idol polls is the best thing ever!

So make sure to go out and do it! And then tell a friend or three about your wonderful addiction! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/774480.html
