Wow, green room before I get off to bed. WOW! I usually miss the whole day in here because by the time I get home I am only just reading to catch up. Grin!

I actually slept in, then did laundry, went to help set up for a lunch at my church tomorrow. After coming home and reading e-mail, we went out to dinner with friends. Much food was had and conversation tooo.

I have been sucked into that damned community, youcantwrite. For now, I'm being really quiet and hoping they don't notice me. Such a sour taste for therealljidol.

What is the freaking allure? After reading several pages back, I still have no idea, but by God, I've got to stick around and find out. Maybe one day I'll ask for a review.

I think the allure is finding people willing to believe that they are good enough writers to offer the type of criticism that they do. It's funny, in a sad way.

Fun things I've done this weekend:
* Broken my computer (not really fun)
* Repaired my Windows install and thus fixing it with help from shurhaian running tech support over Skype, but not before accidentally allowing World of Warcraft to delete all my downloaded addons
* Finally gotten to try out the new WoW patch, once all that was cleared up. I'm really digging the achievements! (There's even one for using a tooth pick (http://thottbot.com/i37604).)
* Installed MediaWiki on a domain I bought two years ago and have been meaning to run a wiki on since.
* Modified said wiki until I was blue in the face because 1) I picked some stupid choices during install and 2) MediaWiki does not make it easy to make new interwiki links

So yeah. I've been geek.

Today I'm going to be less geek, as I'm going to set up my bits at a craft show at 1pm and then I probably need to sit around there until 4pm+teardown time.

I'm up way too early after staying up way too late sitting and talking (way too late, btw, is just after midnight, yes I am getting old). ;)

My birthday is Monday so this weekend was *supposed* to be my "birthday weekend" for lots of fun, but Friday my right foot, which I suspect has a bone spur and/or plantars fascitis because it almost always hurts some at the heel, was in so much pain, even taking a few steps got increasingly painful (usually walking will make it feel better until I sit down for a while again). Saturday was much the same, so instead of going out, I stayed home all day and off the foot as much as possible.

This morning, so far, it does seem to be feeling more like its old self (sore, but not unbearably), so wearing my running shoes all day yesterday (instead of being barefoot) and taking loads of ibuprofen seems to have helped. Here's to hoping it stays that way today so I can actually go OUT today.

I was supposed to do fun stuff over the weekend, as my birthday is Monday. I have not. My travel plans were canceled because my travel buddy was asked to be in an impromptu wedding. My mother is not here because she is in our hometown, putting her mother into care. And most of my friends are out of town.

(Then there is my continued abuse of/addiction to the F5 key...)

I *really* hope this weekend isn't an omen for my thirties.

Morning, Roomies!

Yesterday I had some friends over and we watched 5 Chakotay-centric episodes of Star Trek Voyager for our club's "Swoonathon". We swooned until we could swoon no more!

This morning Knight (da hubby) and I are heading out to Court Days, which is a large, weekend-long sort of gathering of mostly local (to KY) folks to buy, sell, or trade with each other, and eat mad quantities of funnel cakes and deep fried Snickers bars, LOL. Good morning! SO caught some kind of cold/flu/whatever -- he wasn't feeling well yesterday, and woke up earlier sounding like pure hell. Now I'm wondering if my exhaustion is partially from trying to fight off whatever he has :shrug:

Anyway, as lordrexfear mentioned, it's freezing over here in the East. We need to put up the storm windows before turning on the heat, so that's today's project. I think I'm also going to make stew in the crockpot, cornbread, and maybe something sweet and yummy...hmmm...

Nope, no fun for me. We're cleaning in preparation for a friend's visit in mid November and repairing drawers that the cats broke by crawling into the cupboards and then sleeping in them until the brackets failed. We're cutting down deadwood so that the yard won't look quite so ugly and then putting it in the burn pile.

It's cold here today, even for Florida. I'd enjoy it but I'm freezing.
