What has made my week?

The best thing to happen this week is the "debate party" I went to last night, hosted by Idol's very own chite. Someone, I am not quite sure who, called one of the presidential candidates a "PILF." Once we stopped laughing so that we could talk again, I realized I could use my icon skills for good, rather than evil.

Yesterday, emotionally, was pretty bad. I woke up this morning with a positive attitude, a new sense of hope, and a plan for productivity.

We will see, but even if it is fleeting, I am ok with that.

Rough week. I was sick for two days and then my doc changed my anxiety meds (increased the dosage) so I've been walking around in a kind of fog while I adjust to it.

Lots of ideas for the topic this week, but no gumption to get them written out. I'm kind of debating taking my bye. I hate to use it so soon though.

My husband has made my week though. He's been home alot this week so when I was sick he got up to get the kidlet off to school, he took care of meals, and the dogs so that I could sleep and lie around. He's so awesome.

What made my week was hearing from my close friend, Naomi last evening and curling up for a long fill-in chat.

She's had a rough time in the last 18 months but last night along with other things she filled me in on the new relationship she is in, who sounds a keeper. :)

I think the most exciting entry I've read so far was written by Joe.

He used to be a six-pack-a-day drinker.
He went into recovery and got a job as a plumber.
Now he owns his own small business and makes over 300K a year.
He gets his medical plan from Canada, and he can see Russia from his house.
But he's never traveled "south of the border."
And he's angry. Really angry. That guy is angry.

Nothing like being woken up by a churlish three year old...

And finding out that your guide pup might have an ear infection. If he does, I'm calling the vet tomorrow (there's no one who chan check today; they've all gone out) and get him in. I want this thing gon by November!

I need to get cleaned up; it's been a couple days since I've seen the inside of a bathtub, lol!

A good friend totally made my week. I do customer service and our group hit a stressful time with an upgrade. A lot of people where whining and moaning about how inconvenient down time is, etc etc etc, and I was running out of my legendary patience.

He steps up outside of his normal role to soothe a few people down for me, and it was just... like magic I had a full cup of cheer to tackle the mountain of unhappy again. Just 2 minutes of his time soothed one person and totally recharged my batteries to step back up.

Take a minute to see how you can step outside of yourself to do this kind of favor for a co-worker or a friend!

Tried out doing housework while I was still half-awake again this morning and it worked out really well. I only vaguely remember doing it and my kitchen is cleaner. Zombie cleaning could become the new housecleaning fad! ;)

Still have a lot to do around the house this morning, but first, time to fix breakfast...bagel and cheese. Anyone else want a bagel while I'm up?

Morning everyone!

What made my week?? Hmm, husby's new schedule has him home in the evenings more, that's been awesome. I made new LJ friends-- also awesome. It's Fall Break at the university where I work so I get to wear jeans to the office today (instead of just on Fridays), which makes me very happy since I don't really have enough "work clothes" for the cooler weather we're starting to get.

Tonight I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done, because I'm WAY behind this week! Wish me luck? :)

It's Friday! It's Friday! Well not really, but I don't have to work tomorrow so technically the weekend begins in 15 hours. Sadly, I have so much work to finish I kinda wish we were open tomorrow!

On the positive side, this is the weekend of our annual mountain trip and we are going off into Appalachia to get pumpkins and apples, listen to some folk music, take a hike. take too many pictures and just be a family. I can't wait.

Two people made my week. My daughter's pre-K teacher told me yesterday that I "may want to look into the gifted program" for her because she is "so advanced it's scary." That makes me feel so great - all I ever want for my kids is for them to be healthy and happy and smart!

And the other person who made my week is deza . (Hi Deza!)

She is my first LJ friend I actually met in real life! I was wandering through my library earlier in the week and this lovely mama and her two children stopped me. She was like "Hi, I'm Deza." I politely said hello - I was a little preoccupied - then my eyes got huge and I turned into a cocker spaniel.

"Oh HEY! Deza from LiveJournal!! OMG!"

I can't tell you how great it was to meet a LJ friend in real life -and how wonderful it made me feel that she took the time out of her day to come see me! We are going to go have coffee or lunch or something one day soon - how great is that?!?
