Green Room - Week 3 - Day 5

Good morning Greenies!

Horrible confession time when I first saw the word I went "what???really???" but it's kind of grown on me as a term for people addicted to the Green Room.

So I'm going to use it for now until something better comes along.

I wasn't feeling very well this morning and so I'm actually at home today. Will this mean that I will stay up and catch up on my reading and various internet activities or fall asleep for the rest of the morning? Heh. . .um. . .*g*

In the last half of the Green Room yesterday I asked a question. I figured I would ask it again today just in case people didn't see it.

Last season I gave out "Gold Stars" to contestants who just plain did something in a given week to "make my day". I have it on the short list of "things to do" for this season but for one reason or another it just hasn't made it in thus far.

That said - if YOU had the power to hand them out, who would be getting Gold Stars so far for making YOUR day and why?

I recommend finding a better term since "Greenies" is slang for boogers. How about "Idol minds" since we're all idle in the "green room?" Or maybe "Idolites?"

I'm going to have the same issue when I return to work. Last year I was really cognizant of getting my entries in ASAP because I didn't want to be on The List. It felt like I was hanging off a cliff for dear life in a couple of instances :shudder:

G'morning! My net is doing well... not always as fast as I would like... oh, wait, you didn't mean my internetz? :)

I'm having a cuppa tea, making some yummy matzo brei (yes, I eat it often around this time of the year) and will be putting "real" clothes on (I'm still in my jammies) at some point within the next 15-20 minutes. Whee!

I got strobed last night. That is, the inadvertent strobing effect of a ceiling fan mounted below a fluorescent light triggered my seizure disorder. After the twitchin' and floppin' got done, I scraped myself off the classroom floor, sat up, and rambled on about comma splices, sentence fragments, and unreliable narrators anyway. And, even though what I'd rather do now is sleep, I'm going in to give individual conferences anyway.

Because the show must go on, that's why, and my next-door officemate at the state university (this happened at the small art college where I also teach) has a brain tumor, for which he's already had chemo and radiotherapy, and if he can come in every damn day, I can come in every damn day.

'Sides, I have a friend coming over, and he'll pat my little head and make it all better.

I slept last night. While that might not seem unusual to most people (after all, don't most people sleep during their diurnal cycle?) according to my mood chart I slept as much last night as I have since Saturday.

I was getting just a little... well, some of you can relate, I am sure. I posted public an analogy if you want to read it. So, frayed was right, but I feel like a new woman today. I wonder what I should name her. *tips hat*

Good morning GR. Glad to hear most of you are doing well! It's Friday, so that's always a plus!

My wife took today off, because last week was our first anniversary but we were fostering 5 Lab puppies, so it wasn't much of a celebration. The puppies have been adopted, and the house no longer smells like, well, bad.

I was going to wait until today to write up this week's topic, but realized that I'm probably only going to be online for a half hour, at most. So, got it done yesterday. Yay, no list of shame for me!

How did you folks feel about the topic? I knew what I was going to write about as soon as I read it. For some, apparently, it was a stumper.

I am so glad it's Friday! #1 I get my reading time starting after work tonight, and #2 I got a present in the mail yesterday, a big clump of beautiful roving so I get to play with my spindle tomorrow when I'm not reading!

On the other hand I'm sad because a few of my favorite people are on the List of Shame and I don't know if they're going to make it... :(

Today shall be a good one because my boss is leaving for a weekend business trip, and when he does that, he gives me license to sneak out of work early.

Also, I'm not that busy today, so I plan on using my time and wisely going through the blissful entries. :D :D :D

And today is lunch with a friend I haven't seen in a long time, and tomorrow is time spent with a girlfriend running all over town buying Halloween decorations. We host a costume party every year.

So...what started out as a rather dismal week is ending on a good note. Thanks, Universe, I needed that.

I am PARANOID that I am going to miss my bus this afternoon--or rather, that it is going to miss me. For two Fridays in a row I have been passed by the same bus, and the transit company has been singularly uncooperative though I have been yelling at them a whole bunch.

I haven't decided yet if I should just plan on a later bus (since it seems to be only this one that has this problem), plan on getting a ride, or try to pick it up on the other side of campus before it gets too full.

Other than that my week has been going pretty well!
