My ex-wife's grandmother (which means I guess technically she was my "grandmother-in-law" for 8 years) died today.

I don't know the details of yours, but I do know that even when it is "expected" it's never easy.

I have spent much of the day working on websites. I should have been writing, but I had to make a new space to post some writing. I was asked earlier today if I would be willing to let college instructor share my LJI entry for this week with his class. Apparently he had already assigned them to read several essays on topics like the homeless, dumpster diving, indignity... and when he read mine he thought it would fit right in.

Since I am locking my entries right after voting, I finally set up a CMS that I have had sitting around for at least a year on a domain I have had for even longer!

That is my big weekend tale. Tomorrow, Blues is taking me out to breakfast, and then I have to do about 3000 words worth of editing over at spydie_writes.

I still haven't gotten around to doing this. My web site still says "coming soon" with the generic place holder. I consolidated a lot of my projects so that they'd be under one site but it won't matter until I have that front page done.

Still need to write...and I need to leave the NaNo writing until November :P It's hard, I have a good idea this year.

today has been a mix of emotions. This morning I was ill, then my stepmom and I got into an argument. Then I worked for four hours. my friend and her boyfriend took me out for a late birthday dinner, and now we're at the movies getting ready to see The Women :)

Carved pumpkins today. Yeah, I know it's kinda early but we tend to over-do Halloween so I'm sure there will be more before the season is over. PLUS....I learned today that if you smear petroleum jelly around the cuts, they won't mold so fast...but wouldn't I need to smear it all in the insides as well? And what about the candle...is petroleum JELLY flamable? I guess I should just google.

Also, if your jack-o starts to wither, you can rejuvenate it in a bucket/tub of water for 1-8 hours. Cool, huh?

Anyway, I carved a big curly S for my toddler, Scarlett, a goofy smiley face for Jimi, my 7 year old girlie, and an this emoticon
---> ; ) <--- first so I could get the hang of the tools before starting the others. I can't wait to break out the stencils and carve more.

I attended my husband's niece's confirmation this afternoon and the party afterward. Came home, got a phone call from a coworker reminding me of a get-together we're having tomorrow night with a former coworker (I think she called because she's afraid everyone's going to bail on her -- long story).

Is it too late to take a shower? Especially in an unheated bathroom?

Tomorrow morning I am taking my unsuspecting SO, two of my older boys and my two daughters (along with fun friends!) to the Ohio Ren Faire.

* Bought some new rubber stamps and cardstocks for Christmas cards;
* Got 4" cut off my hair;
* Saw An American Carol with my hubby (knightaudit), minikin, and her hubby Flar;
* Got the oil changed in hubby's car;
* Went grocery shopping;
* Made a large pot of homemade veggie-beef soup and a sour cream blackberry pie (thank Ghod for premade crusts);
* Currently watching Numb3rs;
* Getting ready to drive hubby to work soon, so I can pick him up there in the morning and head up to the Ohio RenFaire!

Well, let's see. my beloved Bombers (http://www.bluebombers.com) lost their football game today. I helped my roommate with his paper this evening for college, and any dreams I ever had of returning to college have now officially vaporized. kittytech was instrumental in looking up the precise formatting of footnotes and bibliographies. Whatever happened to the good old days of honest plagiarism?
