Some people have asked what I was waiting for in making the announcement of the start of Season Five. My response has been "three things to happen".

This is one of them.

I'm adding an assistant.

kithan will still be around, but with her new job she won't have the day to day access that she had in the past. She will still be here to protect her Cheetos and bacon though!

That is where n_decisive comes in! She will be helping with some of the "day to day" stuff and helping to coordinate some of the technical matters.

Players from last season of course know her, but I hope everyone will join me in welcoming her to the Idol staff!

So, PopTarts, eh? I love them! The fruit flavors are my fave - I really like Cherry! However, I was worried about all the processing and the other day I found organic ones in the whole foods section of Kroger and decided to give those a spin. They have whole wheat pastry and certified organic fruit yada yada. They were not too bad - but definitely not the perfection of the real thing!

Okay, is anyone else wet from their morning commute? It's POURING outside. I know my town is due for another flood (we've had three in the last 120 years, the last being in 1977), and I think this might be the big one. It's raining so hard that the ground can't absorb it. It's just making the street into a river. Oy, it's going to be fun trying to drive home after work if this keeps up...

I think I should have stayed in bed this morning... :^( The thunderstorm woke me at 5:30 and I couldn't really fall back to sleep after that.

I'm going to back away from the cheetos and bacon politely. In the morning (it's morning here) I just need coca~cola.

I noticed that others were coming up with ideas for what to write for lj idol. So how many ideas have you guys come up with?

I've got about 4-5 myself that I'm sure will be flexible enough to fit into the prompts. I didn't even think I'd come up with any ideas like that. I'm a helpless planner living in a brain that prefers to do things unexpectedly. Just when I'm looking forward to things, I plan and plan because it's much better than worrying or getting all emotional about it (I get emotional enough about others things lol).

The only thing I have been doing is tucking away one- or two-word phrases so that when an open topic comes up (and they always seem to), if I am playing I will have a list to pull from.

Everything else, I try and write from first impressions.

But since I haven't won yet, I don't know if my strategy is a good one.
