Good morning. Hopefully everyone in (insert places "in the middle of nowhere" where tornados have been roaming free over the Earth due to poor tornado parenting skills that never taught their kids to behave themselves in public) are still safe and sound.

We had threats of tornadoes last night, but really just a quick thunderstorm. I like it when they move a little slower. (But I'm odd.)

oh GOD I hate being awake early!

Gotta do morning chores then leave for my 1 hour Metro commute that makes me want to scream. Those who know DC will appreciate this: I live in Rockville, and work in Silver Spring. I don't have a car, so I have to take the Metro Red Line ALL THE WAY down through DC and up the other side. Plus I have really bad motion sickness, which left me nauseous almost ALL DAY yesterday.

My 10am - 6pm job ends up being two hours longer and $8.70 in fares per day :(

Hi all. Have a long day today filled with droning about Medicare, Medicaid and the like. So I won't be around to chat til later.
As for commuting, My 8 hour day ends up being an 11 hour one due to an hour and a half bus ride each day. And there is no option of driving for this girl, so it's just the way of things. At least I get a lot of reading done.

My commute is an hour forty minutes one way when I am working in the city. I get a lot done on the train. And after work, it is 1:40 back to home. All told it is 4 hours of commuting door to door.

I'm happy that we take the train now and I can bloody play my sudoku game.

when we used to live in Southern Cali -- almost two hours drive one way -- so we commuted at least 20 hours a week...

I don't miss that.

My commute to work is about 15 minutes, and for that I am truly grateful!

My commute used to be 15-20 mins depending on how many red lights I hit... but now I don't have a commute at all since I'm unemployed. *sigh*

My dad drives to Pittsburgh every day, so his commute is an hour fifteen there (at 6am) and an hour forty-five home (3pm). I like riding in the car, but not every day! :^(

Today is the 15th anniversary of my marriage to my wonderful husband, knightaudit.

We're going out to a comedy club and dinner tonight, then tomorrow evening we're driving up to Indianapolis for the weekend and will go to a dinner theater and see Showboat.

For the coup de grace, we leave for an 8-day Alaskan cruise on May 27th, and won't be back in town until June 6th. But fear not - we'll have at least one of our laptops with us! =)

All done with the Spring Semester classes so I shall have a lovely day today (hopefully...so far work doesn't seem to busy). It will be nice going home tonight and not worry about what needs to be read or written.

I am hoping to get out to the Farmers Market for lunch today.

I couldn't fall asleep last night because the "boys" (my boyfriend and our friend) were up playing Madden until like 5am. Then little Russ (4) comes and wakes Aunt Stacey up at 9:30 because he got a splinter in his finger. He was crying like the hounds from hell were after him and woke his dad up (who had been up until 5am). For gosh sakes, all I did was get a pair of tweezers out of the bathroom cabinet and show them to him.

Anyway, I think we're going to hit up the Waffle House in Carlisle today. YAY! (That's the closest one to my house... TWO HOURS AWAY! *cries*)

And right now, I have a purring white kitty perched on the couch above my head. His name is Percy. Percy eats Pringles. :^)

Today is my Friday because tomorrow I have my long awaited appointment with the head of bariatric surgery. Tomorrow I'll find out exactly how much I have to lose before they'll work on me, which will give me an idea of how long before I take three weeks off and start getting thin healthy!

We are all safe and sound. We haven't had a tornado around here since they built the decoy trailer park on the edge of town.
