Good morning, or evening or whatever it is officially when you are reading this. Provided of course that you are in fact reading this, or perhaps having it read for you. Maybe though you are imagining that you are reading this, in which case, you certainly need to get out more. Of all the things to imagine you came up with "A Green Room Post"? *shakes head sadly*

I've been catching up on finances. I'm in the home stretch, but this "high" speed access isn't terribly high, and online pay website tend to be complicated to load, so I'm turning in for the night. I'm hoping to enjoy reading all the entries tomorrow, and catch up on other reading, too.

Good evening everyone.

I had a great night hanging out with ladyozma. We went to a Nintendo Game Night, got to play fun games, got fed, got free DS Lites (in Pink!) and then went to Jaleo for more food.

We also nearly got locked out of the parking garage for staying too late! aiee! Fortunately, we both made it out fine and all in all had a great night.

Oh AND I managed to do my entry this afternoon. Oz was hoping that I would save my Gadget story to tell about our fun night out with Nintendo, but I wasn't sure I could be coherent either this late at night or early in the morning (since I am leaving for Boston at 10!)

Hey y'all!
I brought some hot Krispy Kreme's to share!

Yup - it is officially past 2 a.m. and I'm still up. I've been a night owl since I was little and having kids hasn't curbed this, it just means I am tired as hell in the morning.

I'd stay online till 4 a.m. nightly - I used to do that frequently when I was gaming - but now around 2 a.m. I force myself to let my mouse go to sleep and I go to bed also.

It's nice to see so many Idoler's UP all night! (Did anyone else here watch the USA network's "UP all night" programming back in the 90's?)

Anyway, I'm glad we have midnight GR's now :)

Wow! I'm always awake when I shouldn't be, and never awake when I should be! But I'm taking melatonin to try and knock myself the heck out so this won't last. From Gadgets to Gratitudes

I plan to read (and comment) on the gadgets later today. I did manage to get my own little home game entry (http://spydielives.livejournal.com/1757351.html) up (and would love some feedback) though I understand if we lowly unwashed and unwanted ones never get read again [/teasing]. Now that there is absolutely no pressure at all to write, I put this off until I had something I was really happy with. I was in the shower yesterday morning; I flew out, muttering under my breath and then I grabbed a legal pad. My mother just stood there and watched as I scribbled it out, something I do not usually do.

It impressed her.

Speaking of my mother, I have said REPEATEDLY that I blame Gary/LJI for the change (for the better) in my relationship with her. She is going home this morning and I am going to miss her, after having her here for a few days. There is so much I can learn from her about my history, my family history, her...

One of the hardest stories to hear over the last few days was the sideways acknowledgment, finally, that it was not all my imagination, growing up; it was how she was taught to raise daughters. My mom was nearly forty-five before she realized she did not have to walk on eggshells around her mother all the time; before she learned it was never a question of not measuring up, but of unrealistic expectations. The irony that I figured it out and left at the same time was not lost on either of us.

My mom has steadfastly refused until now that she was anything like my grandmother. She has come to realize that, with each generation, the cycle repeats but the duration is shorter. She envies the relationship that I have with my boys.

I am rambling here, instead of my own journal, because it is early on the east coast, all are still asleep, and I just wanted to say one more time that every thing, every single up and down of this competition, last season and this season, has been worth it.

We had some crazy storms and flooding here last night. My son's daycare got roof damage so we have to wait a few hours while they repair it before we can start our day.

SO is sick as a dog. He's got that flu/bug thing going around -- can barely talk, 100-lb. weight in his chest, stuffy head, the whole bit. So far I've only got sniffles. We'll see. If I do a "I'm sick! I'm dying!" post later on, you'll know what happened ;)

I feel so out of the mainstream lately. I haven't had a lot of time this week to chit-chat here. What's up with everyone?
