Green Room - Week 21 - Day 4
Apr. 3rd, 2008 07:50 amRemember to check out the entries (and/or get yours in for the remaining contestants!!) at http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/138754.html some pretty cool stuff there already.
***
I wasn't sure where I was going to share this, but figured you guys could use a laugh or three at my expense. Plus, it's a good lesson. (Ok, a funny lesson...*g*)
I've been corresponding with a couple friends from my work email. Most of us do that. However, there is some stuff going on and one of them is pretty ticked with me. (Ok, this is ME, there is more than one person ticked with me, but this is a specific one.*g*)
So she sent me an email. One part of the exchange was pretty heated, and I cut and pasted it to make a point about something that was being said.
We've all done that at one point or another.
It's never fun to argue with a friend, but it happens. So I handle that, and then I get back to work.
I go to the website for a state agency we deal with that I need to log into, sign into the program that automatically fills in my passwords, and start doing what needs to be done.
I click on the sign in and it says the password is expired... there hadn't been a warning (that I had seen), but ok. I've had to change it before. I just change the "2" at the end of it to "1". Again, not a big deal.
So I go back to the original sign in, and cut and paste the password so I can use that. I do it a second time to confirm and it's all good.
I work for awhile and then the system has a hiccup and boots me out. Ok. No big deal, I log back in... only the password doesn't work. The "new password" doesn't work either.
*scratches head* So I finally go into another screen and hit cut and paste, so I can see what might be wrong with the password... yes, oh yes... it was the *angry paragraph* that I had cut and pasted from the email. I tried that, and yep. . . *headdesk*
The state agency said that it would reset things, but we had to call them (because it was my SUPERVISOR's account!) and explain. It wasn't changed by the end of the day yesterday, hopefully it will today!!!

So what STUPID thing have YOU done lately????*G*

Date: 2008-04-03 12:13 pm (UTC)Fell down the stairs yesterday morning when I left my apartment. I guess I never mastered the art of eating a bagel and walking downstairs. I missed a step somewhere in the middle of taking a bite or something.
I missed that day they were giving out the graceful gene.

From:Friday Eve!
Date: 2008-04-03 12:20 pm (UTC)I've been very frazzled -- keep telling friends on the phone (there aren't many that I talk with) that I haven't I haven't talked to them in weeks, when in fact it's only been two days or something like that.
New job stuff.
Friday eve...

Date: 2008-04-03 12:35 pm (UTC)I hiked more than a mile around DC wearing essentially dress sandals. They were NOT shoes meant for sightseeing. I have huge red blisters all over my feet today.
Plans for today include MORE walking (with better shoes), MORE coffee (because I so need it), and MORE writing (I like gadgets of all shapes, sizes, colors, and dare-I-say-it uses?).

Date: 2008-04-03 02:08 pm (UTC)We're having a relaxing vacation doing nothing here in AL. I've got paperwork I brought with me that needs processing, but that's not stopping us from: sleeping in, testing the outdoor pool temperature (too cold), eating out, and visiting with my sister-in-law's family.
Seriously, I understand about cleanup and all, but who in their right mind tiles a house which houses a shrieking three year old?
We don't stay at the ranch TOO long, lol.

ETA: MY stupid people trick of the day is the basis for my home game entry. working on it.

Bill injured his back and leg so I'm home to take him to the doctor at 1:45. Hopefully it won't be anything serious. :crosses fingers:
Stupid things? Can't think of any I've done lately, I seem to have gotten it all out of my system at the beginning of the year.
So, I took this sex quiz thing that said my superpowers were cuddling. I need help finding a cool superhero name and a sidekick.
Any suggestions or sidekick volunteers?

Date: 2008-04-03 04:01 pm (UTC)Not much new today. couldn't play in the GR yesterday because I had a short day at work and then last night I ended up being somewhat domestic. Hate it when that happens. There are some good entries this week. I should have mine in by this evening. Just tweeking it a bit.
Hope all are well!

Date: 2008-04-03 07:23 pm (UTC)Any suggestions on how I should handle it if he doesn't pick Pitt? I want to stay with him no matter what, and so does he, but the thought of not seeing him in person for months upon months tears me up like you wouldn't believe. I cry just thinking about it, and I can't hold myself together. And he hasn't even decided yet.

And the "omg-we-are-together" sex is fantastic.
Just saying...

Date: 2008-04-03 08:36 pm (UTC)I will be sitting in the rain for a 3-hour farm team baseball game (Altoona Curve) just to see Jerome Bettis throw the first pitch.
I guess that makes me a yardtard, too... :^/
Photography class
Date: 2008-04-03 09:06 pm (UTC)I've been giving this a lot of thought today. If I were to start a community for photography tutorials and challenges that went along with each weekly lesson, would anybody be interested? I'd keep it closed so I wouldn't get overwhelmed with 783,572,734,985 members, but I'd be cool if somebody's friends/loved ones/whatever wanted in.
If there isn't a lot of interest, I won't do it. But it could be fun. And I want it to be fun -- for everybody involved! I could start off with the basics, then eventually move into the more technical stuff. I'd make sure not to lose anybody along the way. It'll help me brush up on the basics, too! And I wouldn't be teaching anything remotely close to a DSLR level -- just from the perspective of point-and-shoot cameras.
Anybody interested?

From:random trivia
Date: 2008-04-04 01:45 am (UTC)- I keep saying we started with 154 contestants, and we did - however, with the player brought in from the Home Game that means that our official stat for this season is 155 players!
- Of the Top 21, only TWO players are veterans. Neither of whom made it this far into the game last time. Which means they have both "done better than the previous season". A mark that has up until now only been beat by a techniciality.
- Of the Top 21 NONE of them were on my friends list before the season started. I only *knew of* the existence of three of them... which is strange considering how much of my life is now tied up in these 21 people!
- For the past 3 seasons, at least one member of the Top 5 has lost a close family member during the course of the season.
- The highest male finish to the game was #6.
- For the past 2 seasons at least one member of the Top 3 has become pregnant during the season or within a couple months of said season had a baby.
- All 3 winners have been women who's user names are in the bottom half of the alphabet (2 ts and 1 w).
- Youngest member of the final 3, I *believe* was 22.
- Youngest member of the final 5, I think 21...
- Oldest member of the final 3 - 39
(have to check on those last 3, but that sounds right)
What does any of this mean? Absolutely nothing, but it's something where the stats of these 21 folks will soon be added to the mix.
