Green Room - Week 20 - Weekend Edition (the return)

I decided to go downtown this afternoon and just walk around.

I walked by the arts and crafts vendors in the park, and the farmers market - then through the "exhibition of speed" with the cars and powerboats, and then past the International Folk Fair before just walking the rest of the way home along the water front - the the while listening to some classic Solomon Burke on a absolutely glorious spring day. The sun is out, the sky is clear, it's warm but with a nice breeze coming off the Gulf.

What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday - while waiting to see what the Gatekeepers are about to do with their votes.

I'm tracking the gr just 'cause I haven't done so in a while. Good entries, folks. I've read them faster than ever this time. Lot of soul searching and tear jerking going on there.

And somebody stole our springtime! It was 80 yesterday, now it's 59, tomorrow it's supposed to be 49! And what about Monday when I must go back to work, of course right back up toward 70. Evil I tell you, just evil.

Absolutely. It's one of those days when you just fall in love with the place you live all over again. I didn't see any dolphins, manatees or the otters (haven't seen the otters first hand, but I've seen friend's pictures of them) because if I had I probably would still be out there. Plenty of birds though, seeing pelicans "fish" is awfully fun and there was a lot of that going on.

I'm catching up on laundry. I've sorted all the dirty clothes, and so far all the clean clothes are folded. There's still plenty of loads to move through the machines, however. I'm taking breaks with the laptop in between dryer buzzes, now that I'm caught up on folding.

I just wrote my free entry. I'm very curious to find out about the results on Monday.

I spent several hours hanging with my honey, am going to spend some more time with him, and then, even more.

Tomorrow... more of the same under the Cherry trees!

SO and I have both come down with the dreaded Current Employer Bug :( We're both stuffed up with chills and sore throats. It's also in my chest, which makes me feel more like a growing sack of potatoes every time I move.

I had a nice long nap this afternoon. Right now I'm heating up soup for dinner. Then I'm off to bed -- I've got the early shift tomorrow.

Took a THREE HOUR NAP with the kitties.
Ate too much pizza.
Watched Hell's Kitchen marathon.

All in all a good lazy Saturday.

Got up, dressed, took dogs out, fed dogs and cats too. Did second load of laundry. Read the last of entries, read e-mail and finished an article I am working on.

Oh yeah, following after a sick cat and cleaning up the pewk all over the house. UG! At least he has not thrown up for a while now.

And I also took care of the spa. Thinks about going in it later to relax.

Also listening to CD's that I have not listened too in a long time.

Still need to fold the clothes in the dryer and put the other load in the dryer.

Am I the only one who's not worried? I mean, I'm not all haughty and "ha, I know I'll make it through!" just that because we CAN'T see the vote and CAN'T do anything about it... I'm not really worried. I'll probably be nervous to see the results when they get posted, but really, in the meantime, I'm not freaking out, because I can't do anything about it.

Of course, that could be the pseudoephedrine talking.

Went to Dollywood with the hubby today. It was chilly (probably low 50's) and later in the afternoon it started raining. But we went on FOUR rollercoasters - one of which was basically a step up from a kiddie coaster, one of which was a 55 mph wooden rollercoaster, one of which was a 70 mph triple loop coaster, and one of which was an OMGWTFWASITHINKING-good coaster that had TWO straight-up vertical portions to the ride... AAAAHHHHH.

I'm completely exhausted and need to be up in 5 hours.

BUT...

I was at the opening game at the new Nationals Park tonight, and it was UNbelievable. Just a really awesome game. After nearly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory (haha, you work that one out), they came back in the bottom of the ninth with a walk-off home run to win the game! woohoo!

I still can't believe how many people left in the 8th inning.

Oh, AND the new concession stands have Coke products, including Zero! Huzzah!

Just a quick note to wish you all luck when the Gatekeepers' final decision is announced. Even though I'm out of the contest, I'm still feeling the anxiety mounting.
