Well, here we go. The subject line says it all, we've hit the point in the game when the Gold Stars are going the way of "byes" and fading from view.

They will still be there for use in ties, for the next few weeks at least. But after that. . . well, they sure are pretty aren't they?

So who gets a Gold Star this week?

What's wrong with it is that people are thrown off not due to number of votes, but rather due to whetehr one person considered someone worthy of a gold star or not. It in effect gave Gary too much power, in my personal opinion. I would much rather get voted off in a runoff of the eight people who were tied with me than to have six of those people eliminated simply because one person deemed me unworthy of an arbitrary award.

Heh... You DO realize that, being it's my game that I could throw darts at a board and eliminate that person every week? I do my best to spread around the love, but in some cases I can't do much for people who give me as much to work with. Also, people who actually know me end up penalized because I ignore them longer due to the fact that they have to do more than anyone else to get noticed since I'm so used to them!

If anything using Gold Stars for the run offs takes the randomness *out* of the equation by saying that getting noticed will trump a friends list pimp-off.

Of course, if there was going to be one person who should be deciding the outcome of a run off - over the course of a season rather than doing it on the spot - it might as well be the person with the most invested in the outcome.
