Ears are still ringing from seeing Mofro last night. They can certainly put on one hell of a show, and yeah, I was probably too close to the speakers.
Got home about 1am and crashed until about noon. Then got caught in the rain on my way into the library so that I could catch up on everything going on with Idol and online in general.
edit to addI was thinking yesterday afternoon about upcoming topics and some ideas that I had. . . and "the debate" with
gonadsandstrife and
fidgety over use of "abstract" topics popped into my head. I still don't think that they are better than any other kind, or more challenging - however, after some pondering I realized that there were a couple one word "abstract" topics that not only did I really like, that I planned on actually using. So, my apologies guys. I do in fact like them more than I thought I did.
So, how are you guys doing anyway?

Got all the entries read and my votes done - probably voted for half of the entries. It gets harder each week!!

And, yeah, to mirror everybody's sentiments, voting sucks this week. Mainly for the freak-out factor and having to refresh the voting page every fifteen seconds.
ETA: Gary, I already told you that I didn't need an apology! Now I'm all kind of flustered.

I have a TON of work to get done this weekend. I want to be completely caught up by next Friday. I think I can do it.
Other than that... not a whole lot going on here.

[I would give you a movie or book reference, but nothing comes to mind at the moment. Maybe later?]
ETA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_slip - meh, as close as I can come.
ETA2: Not REAL... just a side effect of the drug. Man, I should go lie down, or play with the hot oven, or something.

Date: 2008-02-23 08:57 pm (UTC)Tonight is MEET THE PARENTS night. Actually it's PARENTS MEET THE PARENTS night; my mom is in town so I'm having her & my dad as well as my boyfriend's mom & dad over for dinner. I cannot tell you how excited yet nervous this makes me. I looooove my boyfriend's parents and they seem to adore me; my parents, after a rocky start, have really taken to my boyfriend. But the two sets of parental units are VERY different people, and I hope they get along okay. Not that their incompatibility would mean the end of my relationship, but I want them to kinda like each other, you know?
I really ought to be cleaning the house instead of dicking around on the computer. I am such a procrastinator!

Date: 2008-02-23 09:53 pm (UTC)Flood is all curled up between Flar and me on the couch. Critter is convalescing in the leather recliner.
I miss my comfy chair. It lost screws. I found where they go, but can's get the bracket to match up with the wood and replace the screws. The effect of the missing screws is that the chair will start to recline if I sit fully into the seat, even before I release the lever. It also messes with un-reclining it when I get up. I was kind of okay with the inconvenience of being trapped by my chair, until I noticed wood shavings accumulating underneath it. Which means sitting in it is making it deteriorate. Dizzy can sit in it without triggering the problem, so she has dibs on it until I get the furniture repair guys out to fix it.
I did finally get around to calling the plumber. They're coming out on Monday to figure out why showering in the brown bathroom causes water to bubble out of the toilet in the blue bathroom. And, I hope, fix it.

Date: 2008-02-24 06:01 am (UTC)My office did "breakfast and a movie" for our clients this morning. They rented out a movie theater, served breakfast, and showed a film for free to any of our clients who were interested in coming. I spent almost the whole time socializing with people in the hallway whose kids wanted to watch the movie but who were not too interested themselves. It was fun.
Then I came home and cooked for my husband's birthday party, and then at 7 pm our first guests arrived. It's about 1:00 am and the last of the guests left 1/2 hour ago. All in all a very good party even if we did have 5 cancellations due to the flu. Beer was had, and food was delicious, and I made Beer Cake, which was apparently the best cake anyone had ever had.

Date: 2008-02-25 11:29 am (UTC)He's leaving on Wednesday, and from then on we will be going our separate ways.
If I make it to week 16 of Idol, I'm going to really have to work hard as I won't have a bye to fall back on.
I'm still apartment searching, and getting quite desperate to find a place of my own. Does anyone need a roommate, as the way things are maybe moving to a new country wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Hope you all had a good weekend, and good luck this week!
*hugs*
