I've been doing busy work for most of the day today while we waited for IT to set up my access. It wasn't until this afternoon that someone mentioned that it was done. In the meantime, a bunch of emails came in (including an invite to a Town Hall meeting that was this morning. No one mentioned it to me.). I set up my Outlook and saved a bunch of sites to my Favorites and stared at the 3 giant monitors in front of me with that "What if I'm a fraud? How am I going to learn all of this?" 

The answer to the second part is, of course, OVER TIME.  I'm going to learn it the same way everyone does, learning it as I actually start doing it. Falling down. Getting up. Being better. Asking questions at every stage. 

But in that moment I had one of those "I need to run!" fear wash over me. So I just took a few minutes and found a couple small tasks that were easy to accomplish.

Anyone else excited about Deadpool and Wolverine? Or am I the only one who has heard of this obscure Indy film that will be playing in some out of the way cafe in Portland?

Can't say I've heard of this film you mention about north American mustelids and stagnant ponds but it sounds lovely, I hope it's narrated by David Attenborough

Movies in movie theaters in this economy?

Right. We see very few movies in theaters these days but some of that is me - I’m not a big movie theater person (but my husband is). The price to see a movie always blows my mind.

Hubby got us tickets to see the Deadpool and Wolverine movie this Saturday. Yay!

I thought about trying to push through an entry but chose to spend the night before the deadline drinking beer on the roof of a boat off Flores Island Indonesia watching an endless stream of bats fly overhead.

That sounds really nice. I know some folks dislike bats but I find them interesting and adorable.

We're in the camp of, "I can't believe that movie hasn't opened yet! What's taking so long?"

The Wolverine half is the bigger attraction, although Wolverine being the straight man to Deadpool's humor makes those characters a great combination.

I always struggle with imposter syndrome, worrying that I fooled people into thinking I’m a competent adult. But you’ll get it.

I actually haven’t heard much about Deadpool and Wolverine lol remember hearing about it briefly, that it was going to happen, and now that you mention it, I’ve seen it mentioned in an Idol post and saw a comic about it today. But that’s it. I don’t keep up with Marvel these days, I’m a bit lost when it comes to them. There’s just so many and it feels overwhelming to me.

I haven't been in a movie theater since 2019, but this one might get me there. Except that I need to see all the others first.

Just moved into a higher role with full time hours at my library and I totally get the "what if I'm a fraud" and "how am I going to learn all this" sentiments. Then I realized that I'm way too busy to spend too much time thinking about it. (Which also resulted in my bye this week!)
