Green Room - Week 3 - Day 4

 I'm writing this the night before since I don't know how much time I will have in the morning. 

I want to get off to a good start to my first day at work.  So who knows how many other major world figures will have stepped down from reelection by the time I start seeing responses.  ;) 

Sundays were supposed to be slow news days!!!!  :D

Definitely worth checking out - and not just because pretty much anything Parker Posey is in is going to be good, although seriously, does she take bad roles??? She does *a lot* so there has gone to some that come to mind. But nothing off the top of my head.

I spent my night binging ME from Apple+ TV. The pacing was questionable but the cast and cinematography kept it strong. It's 10 episodes, but only 20 minutes each so about 3 hours and 40 minutes. If I edited I'd cut it down to 2 hours easy but still worth seeing.

I have concept for my entry now. It'll be very rough to write and I'll cry but it's viscerally the greatest response I can take from the prompt versus the pop-culture silliness I was considering.

I got my entry in early for once. It’s weird having all this time just waiting for the poll. I’m not sure I like it 😂 but I also didn’t want to wait until the last minute like the week before because I figured I’d miss the deadline again.

I have plans on Tuesday - I’m going to visit a friend and we’re starting a series of online baking/pastey making classes. We’re going to attempt to make berry eclairs with honey meringue. Then we’re going to watch the Olympic torch go through the town (we saw it once in Paris already but this will go right by her apartment so why not see it again?)

The upshot of getting your entry in early is you have more time to read the other entries. I say, as I've gotten my entry in and the only one I've read is yours. *laugh*

That sounds like a fun Tuesday! I get to talk to a lawyer on mine, but then in the evening I'll be seeing John Legend with the San Francisco Symphony, so that's something for me to look forward to.

Just finished my entry - phew. It took like, five drafts, before I pinged on where it needed to go. I’m gonna let it sit a few hours, give it a fresh once-over, then post so I can finally get to reading the others!

We changed our mind last minute, the recipe might be too advanced for us to start with and how little time we have lol but we’ll come back to it. Apparently it’s over three hours to make them and we don’t have three hours tomorrow. Boo. I was looking forward to them. But another time!

I’ve never made eclairs, but as I understand it, pat-a-choux (I’m not sure if I spelled that right) can be a little tricky if you’re not used to it.

Yes, I know they can be tricky. When she suggested we start with that one, I was surprised but figured we’d try and see what happens. I’m not sure what we’re going to do instead yet.

I'm not "making" you do anything. (Not more than you are "making" me, anyway.)

I know what I want to say in my entry, but the words are just not coming very easily. I started it on Saturday. There's just this "yes but if I say it, even written down, if I put it out there, then that makes it REAL in a way I wish it wasn't", lol. Should have maybe gone with my first idea where the words would have flowed but they wouldn't have meant much. Or not.

I think I'm starting my entry in the wrong place. I think I need to go back and add more introduction, and then the words will flow! But again, I don't want so much introduction that it stops meaning anything. But I think I need more than I've got. Plan.

Happy first day of Gary’s job, everyone!

Personally, I am at a point of being overwhelmed a bit between my job and my house, and family. I left the house in rough shape when the girls and I headed out on our adventure and of course it got worse in our absence. So now: clean all the things! practice all the law! try to keep all the Florida yard from reclaiming our home! argue with the mechanics about getting the AC in the car running again! fight, fight, fight!

Its the middle of the day.
I got my mom to the doctor's for one of her monthly shots but it wasn't easy. We tried using her walker at first but the air quality is so bad out and the heat is still agonizing that I ended up having to push her in the wheel chair.

I hope Gary's day has gone easier and more fun.
I am almost ready to post my entry. I am not ready to ever post my entry.

Rayaso and I saw Thelma, and really enjoyed it. Who knew there was such a thing as a two-seater scooter? For when your transportation options are down to that or a golfcart (or, as in "Big Fish," a riding mower)?

It does make you super angry about people who try to scam older folks that way. My mom used to get phone calls like that: "Hi, Grandma. This is your grandson!"

She'd say, "Which one?" in a very dry tone. And then hang up. My mom was sharp!
