Eliminations/Special Powers Week 13

After a week of all sorts of surprises, ups/downs and where animals came out to support their favorite person of all time we have some results for you.

Sad ones of course, because that's how the first part of this goes. The second half are the people with power, and people with power always end up being someone's best new buddy.

Now it's time for the "special powers". I'm happy to say that when all was said and done, our furry friends did not actually end up skewing the results. They came *close*, but no bone.

The top vote getter was porcelain72. She has earned the right to NAME THE NEXT TOPIC. Yes, it will be a second topic for this week, and the sooner she emails it to me at clauderains@rocketmail.com the sooner I will name it as an official option for the week on the Topic Post.

The lowest awallens, controlld_chaos and unsold_capacity are tied. (there were two more but they had more Gold Stars and thus weren't considered as "lowest" for sake of a tie.) Which means ALL THREE OF THEM have the power to declare a ONE ON ONE CAGE MATCH with someone for this week. Let me know what you decide to do.

the uber overlord has much crocheting to do anyhow. considering how much yarn i have stored up, it'll probably take me until the next season to be done.

you have to register for it (just takes an e-mail address) but it's SO worth it. their patterns are always well done. at most, i've only had to do minor tweaks due mostly to my own particular method of stitching. other sites... well, they just aren't as good.

RIght now I"m busy on the pattern front. I have the '08 stitch n bitch calendar. It's taking me forever to get through the pair of socks from Jan 25. HAHA And that's only teh first pattern I'm trying. I want to do some of these others, too, but... I need some supplies. HAHA

I have tweak sometimes too since I knit so funny. I'm a leftie knitter for whatever random reason!!!!

I sometimes even make up my own patterns. :)

When people are tied number of Gold Stars break the tie. In this case it meant that they *weren't* tied for last.

clauderainsrm - just to clarify, if one of the bottom three choses a person for a 1-on-1 cage match, then it is just a run-off between those two people. Whereas if that person DOESN'T want to call a cage match, then they are just in the regular poll, right?

So why call a cage match, when technically your chance of going home is 50% (1 in 2) whereas if you don't call a cage match then your (current) chance of going home would be (all other bits staying the same) 4 in 62(ish), or 1 in 15?

It's like in The Apprentice, when The Donald says "You can bring 2 people in to the Board Room with you" and the idjit only brings in one, his/her chance of going home increases from 33% to 50%. *shrug*

yeah the only benefit would be to get more people to read you and possibly continue to read you in the future, unless of course you lose.

the thing that i'm curious about is, if all 3 declare cage matches, that would be 3 people going home. how many would be lost in the regular poll? still 5? or would it change to 2?

There will be 5 people going home this week.

If 3 declare cage matches, then there will be 2 from the general poll. If none do, then the bottom 5 will be eliminated... and so on...

I'm changing the name, probably this week, because I just like the idea of calling it "giving the Black Mark!". (too much Pirate Master*g*)

If you are in the bottom, odds are pretty good that you will be toward the bottom in the following poll, unless you feel it was a fluke.

However, one on one, against someone that you feel you can beat (or want to call out for whatever reason), you might have a chance at a "Hail Mary" attempt to stay in the game and get some attention for yourself. (it worked with sushi)

It's all in do you want to keep the same dynamic and play it out, or do you want to shake things up and take your chances.
