How is everyone doing? 

Me? I'm excited that I'm getting closer to actually having some time off! Not only do we have Labor Day off (and I can't work without sacrificing my holiday pay, which nope not doing that!) but we are going on vacation to San Francisco!!!

One of you already knows this, so I figured I'd make sure everyone else does as well, since it's going to impact the schedule for the next couple weeks 

it's finally something to actually look forward to!! We are going to celebrate Cynthia's 50th. and yes, I did suggest that we should celebrrate her 50th in Anaheim. But apparently her birthday ISN'T about me going to Disneyland, which seems wrong.  ;) 

Other than that, just work.  A whole lot of work. Things are finally calming down. But of course now I'm facing the prospect of TWO people leaving in the next month or so, as well as our part time employee who had stayed to help get us stable. Since I'm going to be walking into a potential storm when I get back. I'm going to enjoy this trip as much as I can!!

LOL. Actually I told drippedonpaper last night when she was asking me about all the Idolers I'd met, so two current contestants knew when you posted this, and potentially others if they saw you say so on that one FB post of mine. ;)

From what you've shared with me about your plans so far, you're going to have an amazing time! Please do your best to enjoy it if you have to go back home to a bunch of people leaving.

I don't know what's easier. Losing staff who have voluntarily left or losing them to layoffs. The team I work with has experienced both this year, and I'm feeling mighty lucky that I was one of the people they wanted to keep. Our team feels tiny now.

And in case anyone's wondering, yes I am planning to meet up with Gary while he's here. I can't withdraw an opportunity for him to kick me in person, can I? XD

If you work even half as hard at enjoying your vacation as you work at everything else you do, it should be absolutely stellar. Enjoy!!!!

I have very happy memories of San Fransisco. I visited family there when I was eleven, back in the year 1000 BC. Beautiful city.

But most important of all, Happy 50th Cynthia! I loved my fifties, best years of my life till I hit my sixties. ;-)

Ooooh, enjoy your vacation!! I'm glad the holiday helped you out, too. Since it's my birthday I did want to be kind and give everyone the day off. ;)

That said, I promised myself no working over the weekend. We missed having a vacation this summer, so in the past several weekends we've been taking short trips to local nature preserves. It's been nice to get out of the house and into the forest, at least!
