 It's our final week together here at DW.  Which is both sad and encouraging ( hopefully LJ won't be AS dead. But it probably will... long form social media has definitely taken a hit over the years)

I am marked safe from school disasters for the day. Oh joy...Big thanks to about 10 officers who assisted with our "Code Orange" day. We made it. Hope tomorrow and the rest of this week is incident-free...Actually hoping the next 100 years are incident free...
I also mailed my package, bought my stamps and splurged on a nicer than usual dinner out w The Mothership, so it's been a great day.

I didn't make the deadline for the last prompt -- and depending on when you make the deadline for the next one, I may not make it either :(.

I'm not doing great -- fighting off a sinus-something that is currently kicking my butt. But I always have some kind of sinus-something... this one is just a bit more determined than most.

I also didn't read any entries -- yet. I try not to read until I post mine, and since I didn't get mine done... well :s

I'm still two weeks behind on reading and commenting and I'm kicking myself for it, but I hope to have time to get back to all these lovely folks that are taking time out to participate soon.

I'm just sitting in the office right now waiting for the owner to come by to "discuss" a recent issue we had with me... Only an hour and half left in the day and he still hasn't come by, which has me worrying more and more about what the results of this discussion are going to be, but hopefully he will show up soon and it will turn out to be okay. I've just been dreading it all day. :(

Thanks :) It turned out to be okay as far as I was concerned. He had me nervous though because he didn't end up coming into the office until like 4:30!! Geez, man.

Just going to take the time to say thanks for inviting me to play in your playground, I've been having a great time. I know you're returning to a "standard" format next year, and we'll see how I do with that, but it's just been a joy to write again, so that's really what's important. *hugs* to all.

I feel rather odd about how this whole Minor version has gone. On the one hand, I am grateful for the prompts getting me writing again. I needed it more than I realized. On the other hand, I have been so busy at work (training 59 new hires at once) that I am barely getting a fraction of what I want to write into each story. And worst, I have been unable to make the time to read and comment on all the other pieces that have been uploaded and linked (or even in most cases respond to the very welcome comments I get on my pieces).

All in all though, this has once again been a great positive in my life, so thank you for running it, and I hope everyone else is sharing that same net positive.

Now to see if I can squeeze in one last story on time...

LJ is deader than DW right now :( I have ONE active person on my FL there who never made the move here. Shouts to an empty room multiple times daily.

I'm finding -- and I'm pretty sure others would agree -- that ever since long form social media took the hit, it's very difficult to return to it after any kind of hiatus. SO and I discuss it every so often. He used to be a fairly prolific blogger back in the day but he wouldn't dream of doing it now because everyone's attention span is shot as far as long form goes. Ergo, he's become very active on Twitter as a result. Whenever he does post a link to a blog post on either Twitter or FB, he's lucky if he gets a handful of hits. He's not surprised at how Idol participation has dwindled from what I've told him.

We had our first snowfall this season last night. Under 1/2" but it iced over so I'm waiting for it to melt before taking Chloe out.
