Happy Friday to all those who celebrate!

What's the best thing you've been watching on TV (or online, or however you consume visual media) lately?

What's the best new music (song/album) you've heard?

Happy Friday! I've been looking forward to it all week. With my car still in the shop, I've been stuck driving my mom's Miata and it's killing my knees! It's way too small for me (and this is coming from someone that drives a Smart usually) and difficult to get in and out of, so my knees are always sore for a bit when I'm done driving it. It will be nice to not have to go anywhere for a couple of days. :)

TV-wise, I've been watching Australian Survivor (currently on the All-Stars season and still enjoying it, although not QUITE as much as the previous season I watched), and Beverly Hills 90210. I never watched 90210 when it was originally airing but it popped up on Paramount+ as "recommended" so I figured what the hell. I'm mildly enjoying it; it's good background TV for when I'm crocheting.

90210 was a guilty pleasure of mine when it first came on reruns. In fact, when I first mentioned to a friend that I watched it he was horrified. I guess it should have stayed my guilty pleasure. ;-) It's different now, of course, because of time and vintage TV, etc. ;-)

I'm only 4 episodes in and I sort of get the feeling that the first season is a little different than the rest of the series from what I remember people saying about it when it was originally on, but it's decent mindless entertainment, and I don't think that's a bad thing at all! :) One can only be cerebral to an extent before it gets tiresome.

So true. And I never had any complaints about it. I think it was to TV what Wesley was to Star Trek and I never understood that either.

I never really had a problem with Wesley Crusher... Beverly, on the other hand, really gets my goat.

Yeah. Beverly was ... unnecessary.

I just figured the Wesley bashers were jealous of the smart kid, just like in real life. :-)

This week has been CRAPPY with a capital C (and R and A and you get the picture)!!!!! SOOOO glad it's Friday and the only thing on my agenda this weekend is some laundry and SLEEP.

Have had the stomach crud all week and just a general feeling of malaise. Definitely NOT conducive to writing a prompt of "Happy." :(

My favorite new music is Adele's "Easy on Me" which seems to be my theme so far this winter-heading time. There was another song I heard on the radio this past week, but I didn't catch the beginning of it and now of course, have no idea what it was. I don't even know if it's actually new... but it was new(ish) to me.

General malaise is THE WORST - at least if you're sick with something you can name you know why you're feeling crappy. If you're just feeling crappy for an unknown reason it's hard to even know what to do to feel better. :( Hopefully you get some much-needed rest this weekend!

I missed this, hon. I'm so sorry. And I'm so sorry you're feeling crappy. Sleep is good. Fluids are good. Rest is an absolute must. Be kind to yourself.

Acorn TV's Manhunt and Dalgliesh.

Since the next season of The Crown isn't coming out until next November I'm seriously thinking of dumping Netflix and watching Acorn TV instead.

Good morning, Gary! Good morning all!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...:-)

I ditched Netflix a while ago and haven't really missed it - but I'm sure when something comes on there that I want to watch, I'll say, "Well I'll just sign up for a month to watch this one thing," and then end up not cancelling it again for years.

Six months or so ago I went through a huge purge and cancelled everything except for Amazon Prime Video (because I actually use Prime for more than just the video service) and slowly but surely have added back on Hulu and Paramount+... I think I need to do a subscription purge again soon!

I got rid of cable completely about a year ago. I just wasn't watching TV per se spent all my time online anyway, so why pay megabucks for something I'm not watching?

My friend suggested Prime and honestly, I switch back and forth between Netflix and Prime these days but use Netflix mostly for falling asleep. LOL!

There's a free month trial of Acorn on Prime right now if you're interested. :-)

Isn't it awful! I'm horrified. No way I'm paying for a whole year of nothing much while we wait.

Loving Tori Amos's new album, Ocean to Ocean, and I also love Adele's 30. I've switched to mostly Christmas music now but it's nice to hear new music by awesome people.

I must admit that I haven't been listening to tunes (I usually just listen to Spotify when I want to indulge in music), but rather have been listening to audio books because I love them. I've been working my way through Elizabeth Peters' lovely Amelia Peabody series and enjoying it just as much today as I did twenty years ago when I first listened to them.

I have been binge watching Death in Paradise (police team with a British leader on the fictional carribean island of St. Marie. Focusing, as you may expect, on murders).

As for new music, check this out and thank me later:

Sad times though. I just typed up my entry and then my phone battery diedied and now I have to do it again. There was some editing on the fly, but at least I do have a hard copy of it. Now to try to make the new one as good or better than the original.
