After finishing both "The Girl Next Door" And "American Predator" in the last 48 hours, I'm looking to start something a little more lighthearted.  :)

So what are some of the funniest books you've read lately? (Bonus points for audiobooks)

The new Prompt is up:  therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/1107400.html

Which does make this the 1 month mark. So roughly halfway through this experiment.

How have you been enjoying it?

Happy Tuesday, Gary!

I am enjoying it! I will enjoy it more when I've caught up with the reading and commenting. :-(

I've had a lot of fun with Idol so far. Thanks for the invite.

I'm enjoying it, although I had nothing for last week's prompt. Hopefully, inspiration will hit me this week.

Until it does though, I'm off to the dentist to see about a chipped molar. Hoping it doesn't require a root canal.

I feel like I'm constantly behind on reading! :) But I was busy last week, so I'm forgiving myself and catching up on reading as I can.

The new prompt is deceptively simple. Seems like it should be easy to write for, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

In other news, I've been bouncing my car around from auto shop to auto shop because it's making a weird noise and I'd like to get that fixed before I drive 2,000 miles (round-trip) to see my family for Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed it won't be ridiculously expensive to fix! The good news is that my mom is letting me borrow her Miata while my car is in the shop, which is kind of neat. The bad news is that it's a manual transmission and very tiny, so I barely fit in it and hardly know how to drive it. :D

I've been enjoying Idol, but I do find I miss having the time off to read without also trying to write. Maybe that's because I'm also doing a mini_wrimo challenge at LJ for November, which cuts into my reading time in general?

Love the lack of pressure on the writing/voting end, though!

Some of the funniest things I've read lately have been Samantha Irby's books ("Meaty," "Wow, No Thank You," and "We Are Never Meeting In Real Life"). Crude, bawdy, and hilarious. I don't know if there are audiobook versions, but I prefer to do all my own reading. ;)
