I've had a really hard week that is now thankfully over more or less. Meanwhile, I feel like everything went nuts when I wasn't looking.

Doing okay. My face is healing up nicely, except my nose is still all painful. I think it's where the bruises are worst, so I'll just be keeping an eye on it...

I can't decide whether to unpack or do homework between now and the 4:30pm meeting I have.

Alliances are on my mind. The people heading them up. The people that have already joined them. The intent. Who is to be trusted and who isn't.


Do you think the way to beat an alliance is to vote for none of the people in the alliance?

There are all kinds of alliances. Organic ones between people who like and respect each other. Alliances between married or involved couples - or heck, siblings, promoting each other. Alliances between people who share a common goal.

Which ones are "legit"? Which ones are "good"? I think that's a question people have to answer for themselves and decide "is this something I want to see?"

Is it something that evens out the disadvantage people who have smaller friends lists have against those with bigger ones and thus just a boost? OR does it promote weaker players over stronger ones? Is it in your interest to take out the stronger players?

I love the questions, because they really are "how are you going to play" questions but usually end up hating the angst involved with them...*g*

I find the way that people compete in this contest so very interesting. It really has opened my eyes about people, their motivations, and their honesty.

Well, its impact will be relatively short lived anyway. It will have to eat itself at some point. But it puts those who get relatively few votes in peril if they don't join at first.

I remember when I was in NYC. Getting on the Subway, I joined an alliance of passengers in that car. I didn't look around for the possible dangerous person first--instead I'd look for someone with nicer clothes than mine. Kind of like making sure there's a lame wildebeest in the herd. :)
