Dramatic turn of events!!

gunwithoutmusic glances down at his watch to see how long the challenge has been going, forgetting that his watch hand is on the post... and forgetting that he isn't even wearing a watch out on the island!!!

He is out of the challenge!!! 

He steps off on the stump in a frustrated heap and collapses on the ground, exhausted.  Medical comes over and helps him to the bench to watch the rest of the challenge play out.

Essentially he challenged himself. (He emailed me about it) We agreed that although he didn't break any rules, it wasn't in the spirit of the challenge for him to continue.

Yes - to be clear, I think that everyone might have let me skate by, but I feel like what I posted wasn't in the spirit of the challenge. It's one thing to half-ass an entry during this challenge, but I basically tenth-assed it! And I don't think it would be fair to let me skate by while halfshell and flipflop are still working their butts off.

The whole point of the challenge is "one bad day and you're out," and, well, I had a bad day. No biggie. :)

Ironically, it was the removed foothold that did me in. As soon as the clock struck 4:00pm, the whole world went silent, the phones stopped ringing, people stopped coming to my desk... It was the perfect time to write if the deadline was still 5:00!

Just to clarify - he's out of the running for Immunity. He's not eliminated from the competition.

Yes! Thank goodness - it certainly feels like I'm out of the game since we've been doing this challenge so long, but we still have another Tribal Council before the end, so I'm still in it. :)

I know! I usually am able to crank something out in the morning, but I had to hit the ground running at work and it just didn't stop until, conveniently, at four o'clock! I honestly wasn't even sure I'd get in what I did get in, but I didn't wanna just throw my hands up and say I wasn't going to do anything!

Hahaha-- I thought exactly the same thing!

Especially when he says things like, "Usually, I can dash something off in the morning." AHAHAHAHA! I will be up until 4 a.m. rather than ever take a chance on just waking up the day of the deadline and thinking something will come to me. o_O

I feel bad enough as it is that I got behind on the reading. I caught up with Sean's stuff, but I'm still 4-5 days back with yours, and I'm late on some comments, too. \o?

Omg don't feel bad. I'm like 12 days behind on yours and on comments. As well as on a million other life things I need to be doing. I swear I will get to them, though!

I've been writing mine in the mornings since I have till 3p my time (and I am always so dead at night lately), but I make sure I have an idea the night before and I go over it in my head so by the time I write it, I basically know what I want to say (for the most part). But obviously that routine is going to have to change for Saturday and beyond! Eeeep! I'm nervous!
