So how is it going?

As far as the game goes, my eye is definitely on the next two weeks. In Old School Survivor, the "time to make a move" is when you are down to 5 or 7 players.  That's been the standard. 
But New School Survivor thought is "everyone is expecting that" so they tend to strike at 6 or 8 people left in the game. 
We are currently at 8!!

Has someone been biding their time?  There were 6 people who voted together last week, with 2 who voted for someone else - and a third vote for yet another person.   Are those 6 people together or was it a "voting block" where you come together for a vote or two out of convenience? 

And if there IS a block of 6 - there are 8 people left.  Whoever is the 5th and 6th person in that alliance had better be looking at their options, or just pack their bags now....  If the last week or so has taught us anything, as soon as you think you have a handle on this game, something happens and it's all up in the air again!  At the moment, I can see scenarios for every single remaining contestant to get to the end, and win this!

As a viewer, I have no idea what is about to happen - but I'm really excited to see how this all plays out! I hope you are too!!

I'm a bit tired today, having tossed and turned with hot flashes much of the night. (Middle age is turning out to be nearly as much fun as puberty.)

I did want to mention, though, that if anyone here is on Twitter, you should check out the global rotation account @ WeRWorld this week. I'm the guest host until Saturday. It's mostly pictures and wry commentary on my life, and I'm having a great time doing it. The guy who runs it, Matthew "Smiffy" Smith (@ smiffy), is always looking for new weekly hosts. He's currently schedule through the end of February. If you take a look at the account and like it, you could DM him or tweet him and ask about taking a turn.

NOTE: No space between the "@" symbol and the Twitter usernames. Turns out I accidentally discovered how to link to another Dreamwidth journal, which is to place the "@" symbol before the username.

You know, I never had that many hot-flashes. Probably because I'm such a hot person anyway, I might not have noticed. I rarely feel the cold. I'm out in my little yard at -20C without a jacket, often in my PJs feeding the critters. Since getting CFS, I'm just hot all the time. :-/ But I feel for you, I do. *cool hugs* Being up most of the night sucks.

It's a good thing I don't ever put anything private in my Dreamwidth account if they're that easy to link to...is that the same as getting into an account?

I had an "easy" menopause time. I used to freeze my a$$ off in restaurants, stores, everywhere. I don't know how I ever survived winters in Ohio now, looking back. My temp was only normal while preggo. LOL I never had hot flashes...Instead, I have felt "normal". I still keep a spare hoodie or sweater in the car in the summer because I shiver in the grocery in certain aisles, but I have been very fortunate.

As a player I have no idea what's about to happen! That's part of the fun of it for me, the rollercoaster ride of emotions every time we go to Tribal.

When I watch on TV, this is the exciting and thrilling part. As a player, it is much more terrifying!

Also, I'm kind of bummed that our deadline is Friday, but also happy about it at the same time. I'm going on a little mini-vacation starting on Friday for my birthday; nothing insanely exciting, just a short getaway to a deserted island off the coast of Georgia for a nice day hike. But it should still be pretty nice, and a much-needed change of scenery for me. I was actually hoping that I might be able to write about the experience and fit something into the prompt, but since I won't be out hiking until Saturday, obviously that won't work!

But I think I came up with something decent for the prompt anyway, and maybe I can write about my experience this weekend for the next prompt. :)

I've got a ton of things to do today, but for now, I'm just going to sit here and watch the big lazy snowflakes fall, the squirrel select from the peanuts I put out (SO Picky!) and listen to a little Home Free. :-)

Tonight I'm starting my story for this week. I was so tempted to do something different, but Gary keeps feeding me these wonderful prompts that are tailor-made for "the story."

Oh, and the guy who inspired me to write it in the first place, just had the first of three auctions and made about 285,000.00. He's the nicest guy in the world and I couldn't be happier for him, especially when you see everything he had to go through to get the place cleared out.

Today was a busy day. I have my first work deadline of the year tomorrow, but I'm about 95 percent done, so I'm actually really proud of myself. I'm normally a professional procrastinator and am usually panicking the morning of, but I have maybe an hour left to do tomorrow at most. So yay me :)

I still need to start my entry. I have two ideas — one is more serious and one is a little lighter. I'm leaning toward the lighter one but I'm not sure it's substantial enough in terms of the story part, so still contemplating. But now that work is almost done, it's next on my list of things to worry about!

Sometimes I feel like waiting until the last second and freaking out before frantically doing things IS my job - of course, it's not and I always have plenty of time to do things at work, but playing online Uno always FEELS like the better use of my time.

Oh I haven't seen that! Central Florida has been pretty nice weather (although we had a terrible storm tonight) - I usually don't worry about bad weather until hurricane season!

Welp, I lost a whole day on this challenge already. We had a severe windstorm start up last night that blipped the power several times from about 9:30 onward, and then knocked everything out for good by about 11:30pm.

Our neighborhood seemed to be one of the worst hit. We finally got cell service back after about 15 hours, and power back after almost 17 hours.

And thank goodness! It was about 55 in the house, and we were afraid the outage would continue into tonight. Eventually, it would have been too cold to sleep. I would probably have to have dragged the sleeping bags for camping out of the garage. Brrrr!

Oh man! I always end up in the opposite situation - we lose power and it's 5 million degrees in the house. Glad everything came back up for you :)
