Tribal Council - Vote Reveal

 *waits until the last person gets back to their seat from voting* 

OK.  I'll go tally the votes. 

*Survivors sit around for a half hour to an hour as producers look over the votes and decide how to reveal* 

*host returns to the podium*


If anyone has the hidden immunity idol, and wants to play it, now would be the time to do it. 

*waits*

*everyone looks around.  Uncomfortable shuffling.  No one stands up* 

All right then. 

Once the votes are read, the decision is final, and the person with the most votes will be asked to leave tribal council immediately.  

I'll read the votes.

If the old Asaga was "The Love Tribe," then love is certainly fleeting.  Only time will tell if that was the right choice to keep you competitive.

It was and still is the Love Tribe. :)

Meg offered herself for elimination out of love. As much as we hated to see her go, it seemed to be the right choice for her and for the team right now.

And the only reason you're seeing another non-Meg vote is because you're not letting people vote for themselves. Which I could swear Survivor allowed people to do, or used to?

Meg, Meg, we'll miss you! But I hope you'll still be reading and chatting when you can, and that this gives you some breathing room. ♥

That makes sense.

No US version has ever allowed someone to vote for themselves. Nor, to the best of my knowledge, has any international version (including Expedition Robinson, the original) It's against the core concept of the game.

Just looked it up. Apparently there have been ORGs (online fan games, like this one) where if someone didn't cast a vote, it counted as a "self-vote", that is not true with Survivor: LJ Idol however.

Huh. Both Meg and I thought we remembered that being an option from the early days, but it's been about 20 years since either of us last watched the show. :O

I think the last Survivor season I saw was the one where Tom (?), the really awesome Asian guy who Knew Outdoor Things, had to be evacuated because he hadn't pooped in a week and was in excruciating pain. Which totally destroyed his (and my) plans for him to win it all. :(

Bruce Kanegai on Survivor: Panama. I *almost* named one of the tribes Casaya! (his tribe)

Wow--"Bruce" could not be farther from Tom! And it not a common name in general, though I've known a few. None Asian.

I think he looks like someone I used to work with who was named Tom.

Regardless, he was one of my favorite contestants ever! So sad that his chances ended prematurely. But better safe than sorry.
