Green Room - Week 17 - Day 1

 There are times when I give you what might seem like an impossible task. It never is. But when you look at it the first time, you might think "Holy Grap! How am I going to do that???" 

Last night though, I gave you the most impossible task of all time - granted, I KNOW you all have time machines, but I probably shouldn't have asked you to use them.  The old topic post required you to write two entries by 5 days ago!  I'm sure some of you would have found a way to manage it, and most would have gone back in time to about 2 minutes before the deadline and linked your entries. 

But given that I don't want you to get in trouble with the Time Police, and looking at the schedule and realizing when I would be able to close that poll if I set it for when I was originally trying to put it.... I realized the error of my ways and changed it.  So if you looked at the Topic post last night, you saw 2 topics due on Feb 15th.  It is now 5 topics due on Friday March 8th.  

Which might seem like "OMG!".  But it's also the fewest topics I've ever given out for that much of an extended writing period.  So, not quite a "Hell Week". But given that most people have been doing 1 entry a week, I guess it's the closest equivalent for this mini season thus far. :)

It also means you will be getting tired of seeing the words "Week 17".  :D

First, the Sudden Death write off. We lose one person, right?

Second, the five topics (what a way to start Lent!) Are they all due at the same time, or is it a rolling deadline? Also, in the post, you referred to "linking both topics". I assume you mean all five? Please let me know both. Thank you!

“Both topics” was something I forgot to change when I realized my mistake on the date. :). Thanks for the heads up. Yes, it should read “all the topics”. I’ll change it!

This is clearly going to take some time travel to complete. FIVE TOPICS? I have some high grade plutonium I was saving for other purposes, but does anyone know where I can get a DeLorean and a flux capacitor at reasonable prices? Also, if anyone knows where I can buy some extra, super-charged imagination, please let me know. Finally, I need some work ethic. If I can pull all this together, I might complete this.

Over here already calculating the absolute latest I can start writing and still finish all five ... xD

(Though, oddly, I'm thankful for this not being a regular week, since I'm currently at the airport waiting to see if my flight for Chicago is ever going to take off. But if it does, it's non-stop work until Sunday, so I was really worried about fitting an entry in there somewhere!)

Wait. I noticed the date issue last night and just ass-umed that you meant Monday the 25th...because yeah, Feb 15 and Feb 25. I was like...huh, two topics in six days SURE. But NOW????

Oddly enough, I meant the 15th. :) As I said before, the schedule got off by a couple weeks. Last weeks *should have been a double topic week*. To gear you up for the 5 topic week this week. My notes were just off and I didn't stop and check.

5 topics in 18 days is the easiest schedule I've ever given for 18 days of writing time. :) (if it's not, it's got to be close!)

Well, you got me. I was certain you were joking about 5 topics by March 8th, and that the next bit of your post would be to reconsider and say maybe just the 2 topics for the coming Monday instead of last Friday. But then...nothing about it being a joke. Scroll down to the original topic post and...yup, 3 more topics. Yikes.

Also, I had never heard the term "fatberg" before and...ew.

Nope. Definitely not a joke. Things get serious as you get close to the Top 10.

As I said above, I had intended on giving you two topics last week, but I must have missed that in my notes (since we are a couple weeks behind schedule), which is why the sudden jump from 1 to 5 without going to 2 or 3 first. :)

Yeah, fatberg is one of those terms that I wished I had never learned, but as soon as I did, I knew I needed to make sure other people learned it too! :)

Well, I kind of lost the will to live this morning when I heard the 5-topic news.

I haven't dealt with that level of pressure or going-through-the-wringer since SEASON 8, which was a full season and not a mini-season. It doesn't feel like mini-season move. /o\

I'll be over here in a pile of goo, wondering how to pull this off with a full-time job. :(

I'm so sorry! I completely forgot about Idol yesterday. I did some laundry and it just wiped me out. I'm still paying for it. Still, it's wonderful to finally have some clean...stuff.

Actually, Gary, I think I'm going to have to bow out of the Jury. I just haven't been up to taking part.
