Since several people have already questioned me on this, I'll come clean and admit, that yes, Second Chance sign ups are starting on Thursday, following the Gatekeeper round. :)

So yes - people are going out and there is no guarantee that they are going to be able to fight their way back in. It's a much more difficult road to the end, and no one from Second Chance has ever won the game. (There was a co-win, in a mini season. But that was a special circumstance.)

Between the Gatekeeper round, and Second Chance, the field has the potential to look really different a couple weeks from now.

Good morning Mr. G. Didn't know until last night that the "G" stood for Grrrrrinch! ;-)

It's a beautiful sunny day here, the weather channel says it's 0·C and going up to 8·C this afternoon. Looking out my window I see no hustle, no bustle so I know everyone's out at the malls charging up a storm.

Did you and Cynthia have fun at the party? Hope they gave you some cookies, cause there are no cookies for you here.

We had a good time at both the Christmas party and our niece's birthday party. Definitely different kinds of parties though. :D

In lieu of the Golden Ticket, Gary, can I gift someone my final bye? I am not certain I'll make it through this round - I may not, based upon what I wrote, but I can't judge the judges, haha - but I feel as though it's the right thing to do. I want to give my last bye to someone who survives and needs it.

Too late? I wanted to offer in case I do go, or my health doesn't allow me to keep playing (which I hope is NOT the case - I do spend a lot of time on the couch, being bored). Thanks.

You are able to gift someone a bye, but it has to be before "the poll closes". (if you are eliminated, normal byes go out with you)

Well, I thought I'd offer. Just in case. But I couldn't remember the definitive cut-off on byes, and I wanted to check. Sorry - my mind has been a bit scattered. Thanks for letting me know. If I somehow make it through, I'll offer it up again for someone who may need it more than I.

Well, if anyone who missed the deadline wants it, it's up for grabs. Again, I feel like it's the right thing to do, though now the idea is buried in this thread, lol. Sorry if I sounded confused. I get it, but with a Gatekeeper week and all entries in/byes declared, I didn't know who would want it at this stage. But if it's up for grabs before Thursday... I'd like to offer it to someone!

Yeah, no one could use it before next week anyway.

Anything that involves "just in case I'm eliminated", needs to be in place before you are eliminated.

No one is actually eliminated until the poll closes. :)

Yeah, my timing was poor. I meant to offer it all of last week and then... well, slept a lot. Sorry for the bad timing. If I'm eliminated, I understand, but I would feel badly for letting the bye go to waste when I could have given it to someone who really needed one.

But no, we'll all in it until we aren't. Metaphor for life in general, really. We're here until we no longer are.

And now that I've been morbid here for the day, I'm going to go help James with his homework. <3

The Gatekeepers are revealed once their work has been completed, and just before the official elimination announcement.

Yeah, these people are doing myself (and Idol) a huge favor. I don't want them to be harassed by overzealous contestants. :)

FYI - If people were waiting to see who was going to move first on the Golden Ticket byes... there are now 2 of them coming into the game.

Which means two byes that can be transferred while in the game and while out of it. Two byes that can be used the same in Second Chance as they can in the regular game.

I'm not going to out first buyer or any of the buyers that show up in the next 48 hours that they will be available!

You mentioned Second Chance "sign ups" being on Thursday. What is a "sign up"? What do I have to do?

You basically write an entry declaring you want in on the game and link it to the posting for Second Chance Players Gary will post on Thursday. 😊✌🐀🐭

That's exactly it. Just a "I'm playing Second Chance" type announcement on your journal and link it back to the Sign Up Sheet.
