The deadline to get your entry in is tonight at 7PM. https://therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/1015643.html So why are you reading this? You should be writing!

Unless of course you aren't actually reading this. Which I suspect might be true. Let me know if you're not reading this.

***

Cynthia gave me one of her pens to use at work. The Kaweco Perkeo with Noodler's Heart of Darkness ink. It's my first fountain pen! I can definitely see the appeal of it.

Nathan Tardiff is definitely an interesting character, I was thinking of trying to find one of his interviews or general rants, but I think you get some of what I'm talking about in his "Note from the Founder" on his own site http://noodlersink.com/the-noodlers-advantage/ I like to think of him as the Dr Bronner of the ink community.

I couldn't recall Dr Bronner's name, so I started my google search with "Doctor crazy soap" and it was the first result!

I'm not reading this.

:)

My entry is in, and has been for days. And I hope you're feeling a bit better today. I've come down with a serious version of The Crud, as has James, so we're both home on the couch. Everything hurts. Tis the season and all that.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. (Sending virtual chicken soup.) Hope you both heal super fast, though being confined to the couch could mean some BSG time. :-)

Thanks so much. And if James were a bit older, BSG indeed! But at 7, I think it would upset him. He's a sensitive kid, so he'd love the battles and would be CRUSHED by how mean people are toward one another. Poor kid. When he's 10, I think that's when we'll consider it for real. :)

If I were home alone, though? BSG for certain. I'm having a rough day, emotionally (someone basically just called me a shitty writer, so yeah, I'm waiting to be kicked out of the competition this week at this point), and if I could sleep away the day and just hide, I truly would. *hugs*

Argh! You're an awesome writer! Obviously, whomever said that about your writing doesn't know what their talking about. Grrrrr!

You focus on feeling better, and James too, and don't give the naysayer another thought.

Where's Six when you need a bit of random destruction? ;-)

Thank you. :) It was someone who claimed they received a free copy (ARC) of a book I wrote almost a year ago, then posted a kind of negative review. But no ARCs/free copies were sent of this book, and the review was so basic that I could tell the person hadn't even read the publication, so... I'm just upset. Mocking me and my publisher just looks immature, but it puts me in a poor mood, and talk about Imposter Syndrome kicking in... :(

But thank you so much for your kind words, especially while I'm seriously doubting myself.

We're resting and eating the last two pieces of gluten free pumpkin pie (colds and MS can't keep us from that! I don't care how bad my MS tremors get, there is always pie!), and I'm trying to focus on good things right now. I can still walk, and write, and think, and be a mom, and cook the best damn gluten free pie on the east coast, and I have amazing friends. Not bad.

But you're right - where IS Six when you need some random destruction? I mean, *I* am right here, but I might have to get Tricia Helfer in on this one for some definite destruction! ;) <3

Not reading, it. In fact, I'm ignoring it. For better or worse my entry has been up since Tuesday...so. I've got nothing to do!

My entry is moving along. Not smoothly, but any progress is good. It's going to be a tight deadline. But really, how can I get Heart of Darkness ink? Too bad there isn't a corresponding font for Word. Something that tears at your soul upon reading it.

Dear god, it's real -- and Amazon carries it! I wonder if Joseph Conrad gets a cut. I should stay away from fountain pens; the potential for ink disasters is too great.

I'm definitely not reading this, Gary. :P

I love Dr. Bronner's! Makes for great reading material in the shower. Alas, my boyfriend does not feel the same way, so I've had to switch to 'normal' soap.

Ha!

My boyfriend got sick of how often it gets clogged (any time the temperature drops below 70F indoors, it turns cloudy and gets hard to get out of the bottle...), so I switched to normal bodywash and whatnot instead.

PROS: It comes out of the bottle when I try to use it; my boyfriend does not want to smell like a bunch of fruit, so he doesn't steal it anymore.

CONS: Nothing to read in the shower! :(

Dr. Crazy Soap made me laugh out loud!

My husband and I use this every day, and he, without fail, always calls it "Dr. Bomb-ers" soap.

We like lavender for bath soap, and have peppermint for hand washing.

Oh, and I'm definitely not reading this. ;)

Dr Crazy Soap sounds like my new band name.

I love fountain pens! Glad you can enjoy one now too.

I can't lie, I'd listen to a band called Dr. Crazy Soap!

I run a high school speech team and have been trying to get someone to perform the Dr. Bronner's soap bottle as an interpretive humor presentation. The way he shifts between soap man/dogmatic rambler/blatant plagiarist is really something else.

I have my entry in my head. It has no desire to get on the page unfortunately.

Loyalty is a strange concept and I can't wrap my brain on the words to express it.

It's 6:10 PM EST. So... yeah.

Also I think I caught Gary's sick.

Phew! I wasn’t sure if I’d finish tonight, but I really didn’t want to take a bye. This was a fun topic to noodle over.
