One of the things that has been hanging over me during this process has been that Nathalie should have been here with Siggy.
The fact that she isn't, that continues to be that unexpected knife that stabs from behind a blind corner.
There are definitely other people who "should be here" as well - one of them being my own damn fault that they aren't. But at least with those sorts of things, there are reasons. Perhaps relationships that one day will be repaired.

There's no way to change that.
She was so excited about this, and thought Siggy was going to love it. I considered reaching out to the family to see if I could get her to play, but I figured that was something left for another time.
I don't say this enough - most of the time I'm busy kicking you like hippies you are/how you "deserve to be treated".... but to take a serious moment here, I truly appreciate everyone who comes out and participates in Idol. The "regular Idol", a "special mini season", "Idol Minor" - you take the time and effort to be involved in something that means a great deal to me, which means *you* mean a great deal to me.

It's our final topic, and our final week of Idol Minor.
We're not quite at the "let's assess stage", but of course I've been doing that the entire time! ;)
It's only the first time we've done this sort of thing after all, and I think if we did it again, that the ground has been set to get more kids involved.
I definitely think a teen version would go over pretty well. One of the drawbacks of a season with minors is that they really can't interact with each other online as much! Teens definitely could.
But that said - let's hear from YOU, the people who have been following Idol Minor. What would you like to see for a "season 2"? Heck, would you like to see a "Season 2" at all, or was this enough of the experiment for you?
Not saying right away, but somewhere down the line.

How was your weekend? Mine was spent in Lowes and Home Depot. Hopefully this is the last weekend of that for awhile. Actually, we are going on vacation next week, so it's going to have to be! :)
The new tile should be in the bathrooms soon with the vanities put into place. It's not "my project" but I certainly am going to benefit from it! :) (and have been involved with picking things out) I'm sure the end result is going to be worth all the headaches. It will be nice to have two working bathrooms again!

I have a job interview on Wednesday. Not sure how I feel about it. But hey, it's a job. :)
Right now, I think that it *may* be "not Idol friendly", but if I can figure out the wifi on the long bus rides situation (may take up to 3 hours each way!) then it could work out to being pro-Idol, especially if I have access on lunch breaks and from my phone.
The job situation, of course, is what is going to determine when I can start the next "real" mini-season. Not sure how many people out there are ready for it though, heck, I'm still trying to figure out the graphics situation for it! :)

Fortunately, that's "my thing". I'm an absolute disaster when it comes to math. But there are other people around for that. Maybe they can tutor *me*! :D
Also, I have found that the internet has most of the study guides/books for review. Which is great, because the days of everyone having a book to take home seem to have gone away.
What is YOUR subject? The one where you can provide the most help to a young student? Which subjects are you absolutely dreading being asked about?

But a couple people I was actively rooting for to get back on Second Chance Survivor, two that I thought were *locks*, because how could America *not* love them... they didn't get on.

The Survivor finale in fact!
Of course, today is also the Stanley Cup Conference Finals Game 3 for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Which may mean that I'll be outvoted on what to watch!

When I was typing Celena's for her (from her printed version) I told her "I'm going to type this exactly as you wrote it - including spacing and any spelling mistakes". She asked me why I would do that. It was what she wrote, as she wrote it. That's important.
Granted, she's 11. If she were younger, I would probably do a few edits. ;)
Also - that's just me! I have things going on in my head that other people don't.
It did get me curious though, where other people's heads are at with the editing. Obviously, this isn't like we're dealing with adults. Should I be "cleaning up" her work? (she certainly thinks I should be! :D) Should I not?
Where is that cut-off?
Heck, many "regular Idol" contestants have beta-readers who "clean up" their work! So is there really that big of a difference? Am I just being too difficult and need to relax a bit about it? ;)
