*final contestant comes back from voting and sits down*

"I'll go collect the votes"

*Gary goes back and consults with production for a half hour so as the contestants wait anxiously*
*He returns and sets the urn on the podium in front of him*

"Once the votes are read, the decision is final and the person that is voted out must leave tribal council immediately.... I'll read the votes*

****

*pulls the first parchment out of the urn*

First vote

1 vote murielle

Next vote

*pulls out the urn, looks at it before slowly turning it over*

1 vote murielle  1 vote halfshellvenus.  2 votes left.

2 votes murielle  1 vote halfshellvenus   1 vote remaining

Last vote... *takes it out and looks at it, before slowly turning it over*

You managed to get to the final 4 without a cast against you, but this time your number was up...

[personal profile] murielle ,Please bring me your torch.

*snuffs torch*

The tribe has spoken.  You will return as a part of the Jury, who will be making the decision on who is going to win this season...

Until then, head on out of here.

*camera slowly follows murielle's walk down the torch-lit path, into the darkness*

Gary turns back to the Final 3.

You did it. You made it to the Final 3.  Now the question before you, is how do you win?  I'll give you some time to think about that one...

Good night.

Welcome back and have a seat.

I'll bring in the members of the Jury:

jenwithapen, bittyjane, megatronix, impoetry, n3m3sis43, minikin25, wolfden, lawchicky819, bsgsix, swirlsofpurple, eeyore_grrl, bleodswean, adoptedwriter and alycewilson, voted out in the last tribal council.

Our Final 4.  2 of you started out on Luzon.  2 of you started out on Asaga.  (and 2 of you spent a short time together bonding on LaMina)

[personal profile] halfshellvenus  - It's getting down to the wire.  Last time you played a hidden immunity idol - alycewilson ended up having more votes than you, so you didn't end up needing it. But you also caught a couple votes.  Sitting here without any safety, any concern that this time your number could be up?

[personal profile] flipflop_diva - You don't have that concern this time.  Do you think that you needed this win to get through this round, or do you think you are well enough positioned to have gotten by without it?  This is your second time wearing the immunity necklace... tying you with halfshellvenus and bgsix.  How does that feel?  How much are you thinking "who can I beat if I sit next to them at the finale" playing into your decision making right now?

[personal profile] murielle -  Last time you said that these were "good people, with big kind hearts", there's a 1/3 chance that these good people with big kind hearts are about to send you to the Jury.  Still feel that way, regardless of the outcome?

[personal profile] gunwithoutmusic - There are so many decisions that go into "who to go with to the end", but you're down to 4 now.  How do you make the decision to end someone's game - knowing that the Jury is watching, and judging your moves?

This is for the 4 of you - In "real" Survivor, Need is something that often comes up as a factor in a Jury's decision. Who "needs" it more, who will do more good with the million dollars.  We don't have those big of stakes.  But there is a pretty big jump from a $10 Amazon gift card (4th) to a $50 one (1st). Does that at all weigh on your decision, or, is it "It's a game, and I want to win." and so anyone who MIGHT sway the jury to award them the top prize needs to go?

flipflop_diva -   What was it that made you want to mix memories with meta?  It's an interesting twist to a classic go-to in the competition.  I'm just interested in your thought process in coming up with it.  What was it about those specific memories do you think made them a good fit with the unfolding Survivor: LJ  Idol fire-making drama?

gunwithoutmusic -   I'm trying to remember the last time you've written about your childhood, and honestly, nothing is coming up at the moment.  Knowing me, that means it was last week.  :D  Seriously though,  I really liked the story choice and how you structured it. That last bit with your Father and the burned out house - and that line "Let’s not worry about that right now."  That line was perfect.   I always ask this when it comes to true stories, because it's something that I think other people can get something out of -  what led you to want to tell this particular story, and how did you decide what to leave in/remove from the retelling to make it flow better?

halfshellvenus -   As soon as I saw that the setting was Hell, I knew it was going to be funny.  "She makes Hell funny" isn't the worst thing to be known for doing.  :D  I loved how Rorkanos   I loved the flow of this, especially with the progression of jobs.  You really seem to enjoy "regular life stories in a supernatural settings"  Do you consider that to be a part of your love for re-imagining myths and fairy tales?  Taking something expected and turning on it's head. How much of that has been a conscious "brand" and how much is that is just what ends up coming out when it's time to write?

murielle - *looks outside*  It's dark now.  Hi.   At what point in writing this did you realize that the true treasures to be found in the piles of clutter left behind in that house were the characters and their relationships to each other?  In reading this, I got the mental image of you looking opening that door for the first time, and the smell hitting you... and then going through bag after bag, and stack after stack, unearthing what you could find... and stumbling across people like Herb and his family in the process. What has the process of discovery been like for you over these past few months?

For all 4 of you -   flipflop_diva and two other people are going to get to enjoy a Survivor breakfast, and their final sunsets on the beach... why should YOU be one of those people?   What would it mean to you?

***

*camera follows them as they answer, before coming back to Gary*

[personal profile] flipflop_diva  - You have immunity.  Do you want to give it to someone else, or hold onto it?

*camera lingers over her dramatically*

"I'm most definitely not giving this away. I'll keep it"

OK  then.  It's time to vote.

You know how this works.      One by one you will go to the confessional and write the name of the person you wish to eliminate and put it in the urn.  Translated this means, you will send an email to me at clauderainsrm@gmail.com by tomorrow, March 15th at 6pm ET.

is flipflop_diva

who blew the competition away.

Come get this necklace. You earned it.

You are immune at tribal council and have 1 in 3 chance of winning this game.

As for the rest of you - well, let's just say you aren't as fortunate.

The dreams of one of you of winning this game are about to come to a crashing end.

You have tonight to start figuring out who that is going to be. I'll see you in the morning.

Good night.

A few words from Gary:

Congratulations to our final four.
In this game, fire represents your life. When it is gone, so are you.

That’s true at tribal council, and it’s true now.

Read the entries. Comment. Vote for your favorites.

The contestant with the entry that has the most votes will win this crucial immunity, and advance to the Final 3!
The rest of you will have to face the uncertainty of tribal council.

The poll closes Thursday, March 11th at 9pm ET

You've made it to the Final Four. Congratulations.

The goal of winning this game is within reach.

Over the last couple seasons in US Survivor, Jeff Probst introduced a new wrinkle into the game (to keep the threats around, since they would normally get voted out. Instead of letting people vote, someone would win immunity and pick one person to go to the finale with them - and the other two would make fire.

Before became the final 4 vote though, it was often used to break ties.

But you aren't here for a Survivor history lesson. You want to know what the next topic is... and I've already told you that. :)

You are here to make fire.

Or rather, write an entry inspired by

"Making Fire"

You have until Tuesday, March 9th at 8pm ET to link your entry to this thread. I'm going to give you the option of sitting out again. If you can't write right now, or think "I don't need this immunity" you can sit out this challenge. Just let me know in advance.
