I promised you guys a couple weeks of "easy topics", and that's what you are going to get.

My idea of "easy" might not be yours. However, I think the next couple are going to be fun to work with rather than tearing out your hair.

Unless of course you just enjoy tearing out your hair!*g*

The topic for this week is URBAN LEGENDS!

What about urban legends? I don't know. I'm sure you know a few. Heck, some of you may have been the subject of them, or at least had a friend of a friend who was!*g*

As always, make the topic your own and have fun!

Post a link to your entry, or bye, back here by Friday December 14th noon EST.

edit to remind: Comments go to the Green Room. This thread is for entries only.

I've got real crazy stuff going on in here, almost lost my apartment to a fire and am having to recover from it. So it is with regret that I will use my final bye. Hopefully, things will be back to normal next week.

I don't know where to announce this, but I think I am going to officially drop out of the competition. I have absolutely loved my time here, but I am hardly the same competitor I was at the beginning of this season. In the beginning I entered because I wanted to compete. I, like many others, enjoy praise. I like recognition and feel good when I am told I am doing well. I thought this competition would be good for my ego. And it was. It is. But through these last few weeks I have learned so much more about what this is about. It is about sharing ideas, putting a voice out there and being heard. It is about speaking your mind and gaining insight. It is about friendship and comraderie and uniting in a common goal: being heard.

I've been "playing the game" for the past few weeks now, and the further the competition goes, the more I know I would have continued to do so. What I really want to focus on is the deeper meaning of this game. Not winning, but gaining.

I'll still be playing the "at home" game when the mood strikes me, and I hope some of you will continue to read. I'll definitely be reading your entries. In fact, I hope you all will be seeing a lot more of me around your entries now.

This game has already given me so much; right now I think it will give me the most if I play from the sidelines.

Dammit! I'm on a business trip that makes LJ contact kind of spotty. I think I will have to take a BYE this week. If the opportunity arises, I'll post something else, but it isn't likely. I like this topic and I'm disappointed not to play.
