Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is a day to celebrate love and your relationships and/or massacre a bunch of people. "Bladerunner" is obviously ahead of that particular curve, for combining them both!

Here at Idol, we recognize this thing called "love", and yes, Ms Raitt, we are indeed ready for it! How we express it though is by setting up polls and making contestants fight to the death! Or maybe for votes, but I'm pretty sure it's to the death!

I baked heart shaped cherry pies and cookies yesterday and ate as I baked. Little did I know my sweetie would bring over some delightful peanut butter cupcakes.... I'm awake from my stomach revolting the ridiculous amounts of sugar it's not used to anymore. But it was yummy. And my pies were messy and seeped cherry, which I joked looked like blood... Fitting for my boyfriend and I, don't ya think? Now if only they were anatomically correct hearts. Maybe next year, I need something to aspire to.

We celebrated yesterday with our sushi place, lots of sweets and Survivor. That's my kind of V-Day!

Seeing how I am a pathetic loser with out romantic prospects or even sexual prospects which is even worse and my spawn who are my loved ones have school in the mornning I should be able to read entries without ignoring them.
Or at lest it wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the latest round of flu dancing.

Not having romantic prospects doesn't make you a loser; it makes you single. And from where I'm standing, being single during the second most expensive couples holiday of the year is pretty cool. :)

I managed to hide a small box of chocolates and a note for my husband in his work van this morning while he showered. WHILE watching my son, who decided that 6:40 was a wonderful time to wake up this morning.

I've been finding it really hard to comment on entries this week. No technical glitch, I just don't know what to say. I kind of feel like Idol went in a completely different direction than what I'm familiar with, without me, and am wondering if I even still fit in here.

I haven't read many entries yet...but I do often find it difficult to comment on entries. Is it because the style of entries feels unfamiliar? The manner of interaction? The expectations? I'm interested to know--because I do find it harder to socialize than I used to around here. But I find that the writing is still pretty darned good.

Baby Idol and I called her grammy earlier to say Happy Valentine's Day. She mostly said "Hi" and "Grammy" and "Happy" at random moments. But it was sweet. And it was nice for me to talk to my mommy.

The SO and I exchanged cuddles this morning and if that's all I get for the day, I'm cool. Although I did make a request for a blood orange. ^_^

I got my entry posted yesterday and feel like I really got back some of that energy I had in season 6. It's something I really feel good about. Like, I can hold this up and say "This is me."

I've started reading entries and already found a couple that delighted me. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day from S&S Tire. My front passenger tire was completely flat this morning even though I'd aired it up just two weeks ago. It has been an ongoing issue, finally culminating in the need for a new tire.

In other news, my darling husband gave me a gorgeous red and purple scarf, a silver heart pendant necklace on a leather chain, and a box of chocolates. We are going out to dinner this evening at a sushi restaurant called School. I've never been there but I hear it is delicious!

Also, I stayed up until nearly 3:00 am to get my entry posted so I wouldn't have to worry about it tonight, whee. Sleep is for the weak!

Haven't seen my DH today yet. He leaves for work before I get up. We exchanged gifts already though. He got handmade sugar-free chocolates (he's diabetic) and I got two new charms for the Pandora bracelet I got for Christmas. Even so, I'm not a huge fan of V-day. Never have been.

Working on my entry. I'm about half way there. Was hoping to have it up last night, but got distracted by other things, including pie. :) Pesky life...

Drive by lunch break! I got several bags of different m&ms for a Valentine present last night :-) I'm going to make a very decadent chocolate cake when i punch back in with three different kinds of chocolate. Can't think of a better Valentines present forthe only chocoholic who's more chocoholic than I!

I'm so disappointed in Pistorious, I wanted so much to like him. ): ...but even during the Olympics, or maybe it was the paralympics, he had made a bit of an unsportsmanlike fuss after not winning one of his races, which had already put a dent in my fondness for him. And then shooting his girlfriend ON VALENTINES DAY I think was very unsportsmanlike of him.


In wildly unrelated news, I just watched the movie Iron Sky and was utterly shocked and surprised by how good it was. Based, I guess, largely on that the premise was "Nazis invade from the mooon" I was thinking "this can't be good" and only rented it because a friend recommended it... I think it was the best film I've seen all year!

So yeah that was my valentines day -- holed up in my cave alone watching movies about moon nazis ;)

Mrf. So tired. I got maybe two hours of sleep last night, for no good reason. Went to election training this morning, and then I managed to finish a story today, but it was sort of a slog. At least I met the deadline! Tonight, Japanese class and dinner with a sweetie, not necessarily in that order. I should study, but I'm so tired I can't keep anything straight in my head. Stooooopid adjectival verbs confusing me.
